Switch working modes
Toggle the mode toggle switch to select the mode you want to use.

Desktop mode switch
When plugging a USB power supply into the “POWER IN” port, you can choose whether to turn on the desktop mode (D.MODE) or not by toggling the D.MODE switch.

  1. When plugging a USB power supply into the “POWER IN” port and the D.MODE switch is OFF, the BTR17 will be charged while not consuming the power of the USB device and the battery of the BTR17.
  2. When plugging a USB power supply into the “POWER IN” port and the D.MODE switch is ON, the high voltage power supply and parallel drive will be enabled, thus acquiring desktop-level output power while not consuming the power of the USB device and the battery of the BTR17.

Connect to the computer via USB for decoding
When the BTR17 is in UAC 2.0 mode for Windows computers, please go to FlIO’s official website to download and install the USB DAC driver. (For MAC OS computers, there is no need to install the driver, but it requires selecting the BTR17 as the default device for audio output). FIIO Support website: https://www.fiio.com.cn/Driver_Download.

When the BTR17 is in UAC 1.0 mode, no driver is required. Just select the BTR17 as the default audio output device after connecting it to the computer.

Notes:

  • You will need to unplug and replug the BTR17 after switching between UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0.
  • When working as a USB DAC under 2.0 mode, the BTR17 supports MQA Full Decoder + Renderer, which will show “MQA” on the display. It requires working with music applications that support the MQA Core Decoder.
