FastenMaster Limited Warranty

FastenMaster Deck Frame Coating
FastenMaster® warranties its Deck Frame Coating for the life of the project. When used in accordance with the installation instructions and within the limitations stated in the supporting technical literature, the long-term performance of this product is covered under the terms of this limited warranty.

What is covered
When properly handled, stored, and applied in accordance with FastenMaster’s published instructions, this limited
warranty covers against the peeling, cracking, UV degradation, or adverse reaction of this coating with decking and
fasteners. This coverage includes preservative-treated exterior wood applications with the following exceptions:

  • The coating is applied over wood surfaces contaminated with dirt, mildew, or mold.
  • Application while temperatures fall below 35 degrees.
  • Direct contact with solvents or solvent-type adhesives.

Best Practices
For maximum performance, the installer should follow directions on the packaging including the following steps:

  • Stir coating for 3 minutes after opening to fully mix contents prior to application.
  • Allow the wood surface to dry before applying. Wood should not be wet to the touch.
  • Use a 3/8” nap roller with sufficient coating to easily cover the wood section without thinning.
  • Avoid spreading coating until the roller runs out as this may degrade the roller and leave thinner coverage.
  • The coating should remain dry for 12 or more hours to cure properly. Delay applying if rain is forecasted within this period.

This structural warranty provides for the full replacement of FastenMaster product when installed within our written installation instructions and recommendations, and where the coating failed to perform, either during installation or over the life of the project. Claims shall be made within 60 days of discovery in writing to https://www.fastenmaster.com/support.html or by contacting FastenMaster Technical Support at 1-800-518-3569. Where claims are the result of installation difficulties not brought to the attention of FastenMaster for remedy or mitigation during installation, this warranty will not apply. The claim process may require proof of purchase, a detailed description of the application and failure type, and pictures of the problem areas. This warranty covers only the cost of the FastenMaster product affected. Building materials such as decking, framing, and accessories and the labor to remove or replace affected products are not covered under this warranty.
