EyZEE Decouplar Smart Switch

Important Safety Information
WARNING: This product must be installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations. Smart Homes Matter Pty Ltd accepts no responsibility for improper installation.
The EyZEE® Decouplar™ switch is an innovative smart switch that can operate in two distinct modes:
Coupled Mode (Default Setting)
- Traditional switch operation that physically cuts power to the load wire (light) when turned off
- You will hear a distinct “click” sound from the internal relay when the switch is activated
- This is how the switch operates straight out of the box
Decoupled Mode (Smart Home Mode)
- Maintains constant power to your smart lights and downlights
- Control is handed over to the Zigbee network while keeping lights powered
- No clicking sounds when activated – silent operation
- Perfect for use with smart bulbs and EyZEE® smart downlights
1-Gang Decouplar Switch
Initial Setup and Mode Identification (See YouTube Tutorial)
Your 1-gang switch arrives in Coupled Mode. To confirm this, simply touch the switch and listen for the characteristic “click” sound of the internal relay engaging.
Converting to Decoupled Mode – Step by Step
Step 1: Visualize the Button Layout
- Imagine your single switch has three invisible buttons across its surface
- Think of them as: LEFT button – CENTER button – RIGHT button
- You can lightly mark these imagined button positions with a texter if it helps (approximately 3cm left and right from centre)
Step 2: Enter the Programming Sequence Starting from the LEFT side of the switch (landscape orientation), tap in this exact pattern:
- LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT
- Remember this as: 1-2-1-2-1-2
- Button backlight LEDs will start blinking

Step 3: Activate the MODE Change
- Tap the CENTER button twice
- This tells the switch to process your MODE change
Step 4: Wait for Confirmation
- Allow 30 seconds for the switch to engage decoupling mode
- Button LED will pulsate at this time
- When the LED pulsating stops the MODE has changed to decoupled
Step 5: Test the New Mode
- Touch the switch – you should no longer hear any clicking sounds
- The switch now maintains power to your lights while the Zigbee network provides control
- To put switch in Zigbee pairing mode, simply touch and hold any button for about 12 seconds until button LED flashes
Returning to Coupled Mode – Step by Step
Step 1: Enter the Reverse Programming Sequence Starting from the LEFT side of the switch, tap:
- LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT
- Remember this as: 1-2-1-2-1-2
- Button backlight LEDs will start blinking
Step 2: Activate the mode change
- Tap the CENTER button twice
- This signals the switch to return to coupled mode
Step 3: Listen for Confirmation
- You will immediately hear a small “click” sound
- This confirms the relay has re-engaged
Step 4: Allow Processing Time
- Wait 30 seconds for the change to fully complete
- Test by touching the switch – clicking sounds confirm successful return to coupled mode
Multi-gang Decouplar Switches (2-gang, 3-gang & 4-gang)
Initial Setup and Current Mode Identification (See Youtube Tutorial)
All multi-gang switches arrive with every button in Coupled Mode. Test each button individually – you should hear clicking sounds from all buttons when touched.
Understanding Multi-Gang Flexibility
The key advantage of multi-gang Decouplar™ switches is individual button control:
- Each button can be independently set to either coupled or decoupled mode
- You can have any combination you prefer
- Examples: Top buttons decoupled, bottom buttons coupled, or any other arrangement
Converting Buttons to Decoupled Mode – Step by Step
Step 1: Enter Programming Mode Starting from the LEFT side of the switch panel (landscape orientation), tap this sequence:
- LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT Remember as: 1-2-1-2-1-2

Step 2: Confirm Programming Mode is Active
- All switch lights will start flashing
- This flashing indicates you are now in programming mode and can select individual buttons
Step 3: Select Buttons to Change
- Tap twice on each specific button you want to switch to decoupled mode
- You have complete flexibility:
- Select just one button
- Select multiple buttons
- Select all buttons
- Or select none (if you change your mind)

Step 4: Wait for Processing
- Allow 30 seconds for the flashing lights to stop
- The switch is processing your selections during this time
Step 5: Test Your Configuration
- Test each button individually
- No clicking sound = successfully decoupled
- Clicking sound = still in coupled mode

4 Gang switch as above but cycle between (landscape – top left and bottom left), (Portrait – top right and top left) (see image) (See YouTube Tutorial)
Returning Buttons to Coupled Mode – Step by Step
Follow the same procedure you used to enter decoupled mode
Confirm Success
- Test each button you changed
- Clicking sounds confirm successful return to coupled mode

Troubleshooting Guide
Common Issues and Solutions
Problem: Switch Not Responding to Programming Sequence
- Solution: Double-check you are starting from the LEFT side of the switch
- Solution: Count carefully – the sequence is exactly three series of two touches (1-2-1-2-1-2)
- Solution: Ensure you are pressing firmly enough for the switch to register each touch
Problem: Programming Partially Successful
- Solution: Always wait the full 30 seconds before attempting any changes
- Solution: For multi-gang switches, ensure you tap each desired button exactly twice during programming mode
Problem: Cannot Determine Current Mode
- Solution: Listen carefully for clicking sounds when testing
- Coupled mode = distinct clicking sound
- Decoupled mode = silent operation
- Solution: Test each button individually on multi-gang switches
Problem: Want to Change Only One Button on Multi-Gang Switch
- Solution: Enter programming mode as normal
- Solution: Tap only the specific button you want to change (twice)
- Solution: All other buttons will remain in their current mode
Problem: Lights Not Working After Mode Change
- Solution: In decoupled mode, lights are controlled via your Zigbee hub/app, not the physical switch
- Pair the switch to your Zigbee network – Touch and hold any button for 12 seconds, button LEDs flash when in pairing mode)
- Create an automation: so when the light switch is turned on the Zigbee network turns the light on to desired colour and brightness, remember to create another automation to turn the smart light off.
- Solution: Check your smart home app to control decoupled lights
- Solution: Ensure your Zigbee network is functioning properly
