Safety instructions
Important safety instructions: make sure that you carefully read, understand and adhere to all instructions before installation and use and keep all provided documents for later review. Not following the instructions can lead to severe harm and injury, material damage and/or the cancellation of the warranty.
The owner must ensure that all players know and adhere to the instructions for using and assembling the system.
Warnings:
- For domestic use only. This product is not intended for competitive play.
- Product designed exclusively for basketball purpose.
- Outdoor and indoor use (allow sufficient ceiling height to be able to play at a maximum height of 3.05 m).
- Choking hazard, small parts. Not for children under 3 years old.
- Adult assembly only. 2 adults are recommended to assemble this product.
- Read, understand and follow the warning labels and/or warning icons affixed to the product.
- Children using this product should be under the constant supervision of an adult.
- Do not hang on the rim, the net or any other part of the system, including the backboard and the posts.
- Do not climb, jump, slide or play on the base, post or frame.
- Do not shake the frame.
- Risk of strangulation with the net.
- Do not allow a child to move or adjust the system. It must be adjusted or moved by an adult only.
- For portable basketball systems, when you move the system, be careful to prevent the adjustment mechanism from becoming unbalanced.

Please bear in mind that children have a natural urge to play and that this may lead to unforeseen dangerous situations for which the manufacturer cannot be held responsible. Teach your children how to use the product and point out possible dangers to them. We are not liable for any injuries that may occur when using the product.
Assembly and installation
- See the assembly manual for the tools and safety precautions needed during the assembly of the basketball system.
- If you use a ladder during assembly, make sure you are extremely careful.
- Follow the steps in the assembly manual carefully.
- Two capable adults are recommended for the assembly.
- Assemble the pole sections properly (if applicable). Failure to do so could allow the pole sections to separate during use and/or transport of the system.
- For portable basketball systems and ground anchored basketball systems, position the product on a levelled and flat, stable surface at least 2 meters away from any structure of obstacle like a house, garage door, electrical wiring or cables, etc.
- For portable basketball systems and ground anchored basketball systems, never remove the endcap of the pole. The endcap prevents rainwater from entering the pole.
- For portable basketball systems, when assembled, the counterweight of the base MUST be filled with sand at all times.
- For ground anchored basketball systems, please see assembly manual to determine the amount of concrete needed to secure your system.
- For wall mount basketball systems, position the product at least 2 meters away from any structure, apart from the supporting structure, or obstacle like a house, garage door, electrical wiring or cables, etc.
- For wall mount basketball systems, we advise you to assemble your backboard on the ground before mounting it to the wall.
- For wall mount basketball systems, before mounting the product, check with a professional builder that the screws are suitable for the support you intend to mount it on.
Usage and maintenance
Regular inspections:
The life of your basketball pole depends on many conditions. The climate, placement of the pole,location of the pole, exposure to corrosives such as pesticides, herbicides, or salts are all important.
- It is essential that you check the technical condition of the system before every use. Regularly check the important parts of the product.
- Make sure the backboard, rim, post, base, fastenings etc. are in a good technical condition. Without these regular checks, the product might tip over or present other risks to the user.
- Check the system, base, screws on excessive wear and signs of corrosion.
- Check if the system, backboard, rim, post, base, screws and that parts which fit together are firmly fastened before each use. Tighten screws and small parts to prevent slack and risks of injury. If necessary, repair before use.
- For systems using sandbag as counterweight, make sure the sandbags are in good condition and make sure no sand is leaking.
- Climate, corrosion, or misuse could result in system failure.
- For portable basketball systems, the base must always be filled with sand to ensure that the whole system is stable.
- Keep organic substances away from the base of the post. Grass and rubbish etc. may cause corrosion and/or damage the system.
During use:
- Before play, remove your jewelry (rings, watches, necklaces, etc). These objects may get caught in the net.
- The ground surface under the basketball system must be clean, with no gravel or other sharp objects.
- Do not use the system when there are high winds and/or storms; the system may tip over.
- During play, especially when dunking, keep your face away from the backboard, rim and net. You risk serious injury if your teeth or face come into contact with the backboard, rim or net.
- For moving the portable EXIT Galaxy basketball system;
- Place the backboard in lowest position before moving the system.
- Rotate the bolts at the feet to lift the feet and lower the front wheel.
- Place the EXIT Galaxy basketball system to the new location. Be cautious when moving the system over uneven or sloppy surfaces.
- Rotate the bolts at the feet to lower the feet. Make sure the system is stable before using.
- Do not allow anyone to sit or stand on the base during moving.
- For moving the portable EXIT Novastar basketball system;
- Place the backboard in lowest position before moving the system.
- Remove the sandbags of the counterweight.
- Place the wheels at the front of the base.
- Tilt the system and role the system, by means of the wheels, over the ground to the new location. Be cautious when moving the system over uneven or sloppy surfaces.
- Tilt back the system to the upright position and replace the wheels.
- Replace the sandbags of the counterweight.
- For adjustable systems, when you adjust the height or move the system, keep your hands and fingers away from moving parts.
- All EXIT basketball systems, including those used for display, must be assembled as per the instructions. For portable basketball systems, the counterweight must always be used as instructed. If you do not adhere to these instructions, you risk SERIOUS INJURIES.
- Do not design yourself and use a counterweight system other than the one recommended. Most injuries are caused by misuse and/or not following to the instructions.
Maintenance & storage
To ensure that your product lasts, we advise you to:
- Follow to the usage and assembly procedures.
- Check the technical condition of the system on signs of corrosion like rust, holes, flaking and repaint with outdoor enamel paint. If rust has worn through the steel at any point, replace the post immediate-ly.
- Do not use detergent products to care for the system. Wash with clear or soapy water.
- If the product is stored outside, it must be placed far away from personal belongings and hanging cables and/or in a place protected from wind to prevent risks of tipping over.
- In case of windy and/or severe weather conditions:
- Portable systems, if possible, store the portable basketball system indoors or in an area protected from the wind and free from personal property and/or overhead wires. Set the backboard in the lowest position.
- Ground anchored systems, set the backboard in the lowest position.
- Adjustable wall mounted systems, set the backboard in the lowest position.
Warranty
- After the date of the purchase invoice, the owner of the EXIT product has a:
- 2-year warranty on the steel frame.
- 1 year warranty on the backboard and rim.
- Parts subject to wear and tear (such as the net): no warranty.
- The warranty applies only to the material and construction defects with respect to this product or its components.
- The warranty becomes defunct if:
- This product is used incorrectly and/or carelessly and is used in such a way that it does not comply with its purpose.
- This product is not assembled and maintained according to the instruction booklet.
- Technical repairs to this product are not carried out professionally.
- Parts, which are mounted afterwards, do not comply with the technical specifications of the product concerned or are mounted incorrectly.
- Defects are a result of climatic influences such as corrosion, UV rays or normal disintegration.
- The product is rented out or was made available to various unspecified persons in any other manner.
- EXIT Toys will repair or replace according to its choice all material and construction defects that have been ascertained by EXIT Toys during the warranty period.
- The warranty only applies when proof, accompanied by original purchase invoice, is presented to the EXIT toys costumer service or an EXIT Toys dealer.
- In case of material and construction defects that have been ascertained by EXIT Toys, the product or its components will be repaired or replaced – according to its choice – free of charge during the warranty period mentioned in Article 1.
- If the claim for warranty is not justifiable, all the costs are at the expense of the owner.
- This warranty cannot be transferred to third parties.
- The EXIT basketball systems are designed for personal use. It is not permitted to rent out or use the systems in non-residential areas like schools, clubs or day-care centers. The warranty and any other liabilities shall expire if the EXIT basketball system is rented out or used in public areas.
- Warranties shall cover damage or failure that occurs during NORMAL or INTENDED USE of the product. Normal or intended use shall be described as activity that is necessary for the participation in the sport for which the equipment is designed. NOT COVERED is damage caused by deliberate hanging, multiple players hanging, vandalism, non-basketball activities or any other activity that could be regarded as abusive.
