General description

  • The Excentr 43 is designed for easy cleaning of almost all types of floors. This machine has the advantages of both eccentric cleaning and orbital cleaning. Combined with the interchangeable pads, the machine is very versatile: from carpet cleaning to (chemical-free!) stripping or grinding/polishing parquet. The all-round plastic bumper enables precise work along edges.
  • The unique feature of the Excentr 43 is the so-called Excentr method: the high number of small movements of 1400 per minute. This is combined with the rotary motion of an orbital cleaner. This makes the pad’s performance unparalleled. Guiding the machine while working is easy and relaxed as the machine “floats” over the floor to the touch.
  • The basis of the machine is a robust stainless steel frame with wheel set to which the pad holder with vibrating rubbers is attached. A generously sized electric motor with eccentric is mounted to the frame and drives the pad holder.
  • To keep sufficient pressure on the pad, additional weights are applied to the machine.
  • For operation, a 7-way adjustable stainless steel handle with a T-handle is fitted to the frame, so that the right handle height can be set for every body height.
  • Two solid wheels are positioned so that t h e leverage of the handle allows the machine to be tilted backwards and moved on easy.

Noise emission

  • The measured noise level during work with the machine is 72 dB(A). Experience has shown that the noise emission of the machine is highly dependent on the surface on which work is performed and the room in which work is carried out. This can result in situations where the noise level is considerably higher due to “reverberation”. Excentr recommends always having hearing protection available for use in these situations.
    From www.arboportaal.nl:
  • The danger of noise-induced hearing loss starts for employees at 80 dB(A). Above this value, the employer must offer hearing protection according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. At 83 dB(A), an employee may only work for 4 hours without hearing protection, where there must not be an unacceptably high risk of hearing damage. In the remaining 4 hours, high noise levels must then no longer occur. An employee is obliged to use hearing protection if the average daily dose exceeds 85 dB(A).

Safety

General.

  • Shown here are the stickers applied to the machines.
  • Always ensure adequate lighting of the workplace, and install additional (building) lighting temporarily if necessary to maintain sufficient overview!!!
    WARNING!

  • You are working with (scrub) water and a 220V machine: Be sure:
    • The mains voltage is 220V,
    • The protective earth connection is good,
    • An earth leakage switch is included.
  • Check the cables for damage: both the short connecting cable and the extension cable! If anomalies are found: rectify them before starting work!
  • Examine the floor for color and shape stability before treating it with Excentr 43.
  • Check beforehand that the right pad is attached for the job.
  • Check that at least 1 set of weights is fitted but no more than 6 sets!
  • The number of weights to the left and right of the motor must be equal!
Accessories

Turn the machine OFF and unplug it before fitting/adjusting accessories:

  • Scrub tank
    • Attach the scrubber tank to the handle
    • Plug the tube into the connection on the pad holder
    • Fill the tank with detergent
    • Set the dosage
  • Use of cleaning agents
    • When using cleaning products, pay attention to the instructions for use indicated on the label. Use only low-foam cleaning products to which no flammable components have been added and raw materials that could harm health.
    • There are also dangers in using cleaning products that have toxic, irritating, or skin-damaging substances added to them.
    • Cleaning products containing solvents that attack plastics can also damage parts of the machine.

Get to work!

  • Roll it to where it will be used
  • Check that the switch is set to OFF
  • Plug the extension cable into the plug and a grounded outlet
  • Accessories are mounted by tilting the machine on its handle and wheels.
  • Then tilt the machine back onto its wheels so that it rests on the pad holder and accessories.

  • Press the switch ON. The motor starts, and the pad starts working.
  • While working, you can easily push the device in all directions with little force. Work in lanes, not in a back-and-forth motion.
  • If your machine is equipped with a liquid tank, you can give extra water by lifting the lever.
  • Always turn the machine off immediately if you stop working so as not to damage the floor. Remove the plug from the socket.

Maintenance

CAUTION:
Regular inspection and structural preventive maintenance reduce the risk of breakdowns during work.

Lubricants
A can of WD 40 is the only necessary lubricant for maintenance.

Maintenance schedule
  • Daily: (before work starts)
    • Check the cables for damage.

    • After using chemical cleaners, wipe the machine with a damp cloth to prevent the chemicals from acting on the stainless steel parts.
    • Check for loose bolts/nuts.
  • Monthly:
    • Spray the handle adjustment mechanism with WD40 to keep the adjustment smooth.
    • Check the grip deck under the pad holder if it still has enough grip for the pad.
    • Check the vibrating rubbers for cracks.
  • Annual:
Have the mandatory -ARBO- safety inspection (NEN 3140) for electrical tools.

Replacing a pad.
If the working speed drops or the result declines, the pad is seriously soiled or worn and must be replaced. The pad is mounted to the eccentric plate with Velcro fastening. Proceed as follows:

  • Turn off the machine.
  • Remove the plug from the socket.
  • Set the handle with the T-handle to the highest position.
  • Tilt the machine backward so that the handle is on the ground and the pad is vertical.
  • Pull the pad loose from the eccentric plate. Carefully attach the new pad to the eccentric plate and press it firmly.
