MK1 Shifter Box Adapter Bracket
The O2a shifter box is mounted from the bottom of the car. Route the shifter cables over the top of the steering rack. You can cut off the OEM mounting brackets for the linkage shifter if desired, It will allow more clearance for the downpipe and cables.
The O2j shifter box is mounted from the bottom of the car. Route the shifter cables over the top of the steering rack. You can cut off the OEM mounting brackets for the linkage shifter if desired, It will allow more clearance for the downpipe and cables.
Once the bracket on rear is hand tight on the shifter box use a punch or scribe to mark where the 2 oem studs in the shifter box is touching the body. Remove shifter box and drill two 3/8 inch holes for the bolts to pass thru the tunnel. Using the OEM 13mm nuts bolt the front of the shifter box in place and use 2 M8 bolts to attach the rearward part of the shifter box.
