️ Important Safety Information
Please follow these instructions to prevent damage to the device or personal injury:
Temperature & Environment
- Camera Operating Temperature: -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C).
- HomeBase 2 Operating Temperature: 14°F to 113°F (-10°C to 45°C).
- Warning: Do not use the devices in extreme temperatures outside these ranges.
- Charging: Charge the camera indoors only at temperatures between 41°F and 77°F (5°C to 25°C). Never charge the camera in rain, wet conditions, or direct strong sunlight.
Battery & Power Supply
- Explosion Hazard: Do not attempt to replace the built-in battery yourself. There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type.
- Adapter: Use only the provided adapter or a certified 5V/2A USB charger.
- Water Protection (IP67): The camera is weather-resistant (protected against rain and dust) but must not be submerged in water. Ensure the charging port cover (on the back) is tightly closed during outdoor use.
Installation & RF Exposure
- Minimum Distance: Maintain a distance of at least 20 cm (8 inches) between the device and the human body to comply with RF exposure requirements.
- Interference: Place the HomeBase and cameras at least 30 cm (1 ft) away from internal or external hard drives or other magnetic devices to prevent Wi-Fi interference.
Quick Start Guide
Setup
- Connect HomeBase 2: Connect the HomeBase 2 to your router using the Ethernet cable and plug in the power adapter.
- Wait: Wait (up to 1 minute) until the LED on the HomeBase turns solid blue.
- App: Download the “eufy Security” app and create an account.
- Add Device: In the app, tap “Add Device” > “HomeBase 2” and scan the QR code located on the bottom of the HomeBase.
- Pair Cameras:
- Place the eufyCam 2 Pro near the HomeBase (within 1 meter / 3 feet).
- Press the SYNC button on the camera for 2 seconds until you hear a beep.
- The HomeBase will confirm the pairing via a voice prompt.
Mounting
- Recommended Height: 7 to 10 feet (2 to 3 meters) above the ground. This height maximizes the detection range of the motion sensor (up to 10 meters / 30 feet).
- Positioning: Avoid direct sunlight on the lens. Do not point the camera directly at highly reflective walls, as this will impair night vision.
Attachment:
- Outdoor: Use the screw mount (requires drilling, 6mm / 15/64 in drill bit) for security.
- Indoor: You can use the magnetic mount or simply place it on a magnetic metal surface.
LED Status Indicators
- Flashing Blue: Ready for setup.
- Solid Blue: Charging (turns off when full) / Device active.
- Solid Red: Live stream is being viewed or an event is recording.
- Flashing Red: Alarm triggered or Low Battery.
- Flashing Red & Blue: Firmware update in progress (Do not switch off!).
HomeKit Setup
- Requirement: The cameras must be connected to the HomeBase 2.
- Activation: Go to the eufy Security App > HomeBase Settings > HomeKit Setup. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the cameras to the Apple Home app.
- Note: When using HomeKit, the resolution is often limited to 1080p (instead of 2K) due to Apple’s restrictions, and using “HomeKit Secure Video” may reduce battery life faster.
Reset
- To factory reset the camera, press and hold the SYNC button for 10 seconds until you hear two beeps.
