1 The first glance

The AntMiner S1 is a blade-style miner containing two blades, pre-assembled before shipping. The following describes its components:

AntMiner S1 Components:

A single blade miner can operate independently.

Important Notices:

  1. You must provide your own ATX Power Supply.
  2. You must provide your own WIFI antenna to connect the miner via WIFI.

2 Power Supply

Connect the 12V power line to the Power Supply socket. Ensure the positive (+12V) and negative (GND) connections are not reversed.

Visual Description: The power connection shows a socket with terminals clearly marked "+12V" and "GND". Red wires are typically connected to +12V and black wires to GND.

3 Connect to Miner

3.1 WAN setting

Step 1: Read the IP address labeled on the Fan Bracket (Front) of the miner. Manually configure your PC's IP address to be in the same network segment as the miner's IP address.

Step 2: Connect the miner and your PC using a network cable.

Step 3: Open a web browser and enter the miner's IP address. Log in using the default username and password, which are both 'root'.

Step 4: Configure the LAN interface to use DHCP client. Navigate to "Network" > "Interface" > "LAN". Select "DHCP client" and click "Switch Protocol", then "Save & Apply". Note: The default LAN IP for early batches is 192.168.1.1. The WAN address cannot be set to 192.168.1.x, as this will prevent access. If your miner's LAN is already set to DHCP by default, you can skip this step.

Step 5: Modify the IP address of the WAN interface. Navigate to "Network" > "Interface" > "WAN" to configure the WAN IP address.

Notes on Network Configuration:

  • The WAN and LAN interfaces must not be in the same network segment. Set the WAN to use DHCP client or assign it to a different network segment than the LAN. Newer versions of AntMiner are set to DHCP by default for LAN.
  • If you assign a static IP address to the WAN interface, make sure to remember it to avoid losing access to the miner.

3.2 WIFI setting

The AntMiner includes built-in WIFI, which can be used to connect to an Ethernet network via another WIFI hotspot. Poor WIFI performance may reduce the miner's hash rate. You are required to provide your own WIFI antenna.

To configure WIFI, navigate to "Network" > "Wifi". You can click "Scan" to find available WIFI signals in your environment and then add them.

4 Pool Setting

You can configure your mining pool settings through "Status" > "Miner Configuration".

Pool Configuration Details: The AntMiner supports up to three mining pools. Pool priority decreases from Pool 1 to Pool 3. A lower priority pool will only begin mining if the higher priority pool encounters a fault.

5 Miner Status

You can monitor your miner's running status via "Status" > "Miner Status". Key metrics include:

The interface displays sections for Summary, Pools, and Bitmain details, showing metrics like elapsed time, hash rate, accepted/rejected shares, and hardware status.

6 System Configuration

6.1 Password Modification

You can change the AntMiner login password by navigating to "System" > "Administration". After making changes, click "Save" or "Save and Apply".

6.2 System Upgrading

To upgrade your miner's firmware, go to "System" > "Backup / Flash Firmware".

The "Keep settings" option is selected by default. Choose this if you wish to retain your current configuration. Deselect it if you want to restore to initial settings.

To upgrade:

  1. Click the "Browse" button to select the firmware file.
  2. Click the "Flash image..." button to start downloading the file to the system.
  3. After downloading, click the "Proceed" button to begin the system upgrade.

During the upgrade process, wait patiently and ensure the miner remains powered on. Failure to do so may result in the AntMiner restoring to its initial settings. Upon successful completion, the AntMiner will reconnect, allowing you to log in to the interface.
