Go to the Home screen, open the Settings menu, slide the Wireless & networks icon to ON, tap the desired network, and enter the password if required.
Try restarting the tablet by holding the Power key until the Device Options menu appears, then select 'Power off'. If it is completely unresponsive, use the hardware RESET button located on the device.
Press the power key once to turn the screen off when not in use. You can also adjust the Screen Timeout option in the Display menu to turn off the screen automatically after 1 to 30 minutes of inactivity.
