1. Introducción
The WaterCop Wireless Flood Sensor (WCDFS1) is designed to detect the presence of water and transmit a wireless signal to a compatible WaterCop automatic water shut-off system. This system helps prevent water damage by automatically activating the shut-off valve when a leak is detected.
This sensor operates wirelessly, providing flexible placement options up to 200 feet from the main WaterCop system. It is powered by standard AA alkaline batteries.
2. Contenido del paquete
- WaterCop Wireless Flood Sensor (WCDFS1)
- Remote Probe with cable
- Hardware de montaje (tornillos, anclajes)
- Este manual de instrucciones
- Do not expose the sensor to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- Replace batteries annually or when indicated by the WaterCop system.
4. Configuración e instalación
4.1 Instalación de la batería
The WaterCop WCDFS1 sensor requires two (2) AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Abra con cuidado el sensor casing. Refer to the diagram for assistance.
- Insert two AA alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the battery compartment.
- Cerrar el sensor casing de forma segura.
A pair of standard AA alkaline batteries should operate the sensor for approximately one year.
4.2 Colocación de sensores
Place the sensor in areas prone to water leaks, such as near water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, sinks, toilets, or in basements.
The sensor transmits a wireless signal up to 200 feet to the WaterCop control unit. Consider potential obstructions like thick walls or metal objects that may reduce signal range.
The remote probe should be positioned directly on the floor or surface where water accumulation is most likely to occur.

4.3 Pairing with WaterCop System
The WCDFS1 sensor is compatible with all WaterCop systems. Refer to your specific WaterCop control unit's manual for detailed instructions on how to pair new sensors. Generally, this involves placing the control unit into a "learn" mode and then activating the sensor.
4.4 Montaje
The sensor unit can be wall-mounted using the provided hardware. Ensure the remote probe cable reaches the desired detection area.

5. Operación
Once installed and paired, the WaterCop Wireless Flood Sensor continuously monitors for the presence of water at its remote probe.
Upon detecting water, the sensor immediately transmits a wireless signal to the WaterCop control unit.
The WaterCop control unit, upon receiving this signal, will activate the automatic shut-off valve, thereby stopping the water supply to prevent further damage.
The sensor will continue to transmit the alarm signal until the water is no longer detected by the probe.
6. Mantenimiento
6.1 Reemplazo de batería
Replace the AA alkaline batteries annually or when the WaterCop control unit indicates a low battery signal from the sensor.
6.2 Limpieza
Periodically inspect the sensor and probe for dust or debris. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
6.3 Pruebas
It is recommended to test the sensor's functionality periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months).
- Place a small amount of water (e.g., a few drops) on the remote probe.
- Observe if the WaterCop control unit receives the alarm signal and activates the shut-off valve.
- Remove the water from the probe and verify that the WaterCop system resets or allows manual reset.
- Refer to your WaterCop control unit's manual for specific testing procedures.
7. Solución de problemas
7.1 Sensor not detecting water:
- Ensure the remote probe is making good contact with the surface.
- Verify the sensor is correctly paired with the WaterCop control unit.
7.2 WaterCop system not responding to sensor:
- Check the sensor's batteries.
- Ensure the sensor is within the 200 ft wireless range of the WaterCop control unit and there are no significant obstructions.
- Re-pair the sensor with the WaterCop control unit.
- Consult the WaterCop control unit's manual for troubleshooting its reception.
7.3 False alarms:
- Ensure the probe is not placed in an area where condensation or minor spills are common and not indicative of a leak.
- Check for any moisture on the probe that might be causing a false trigger.
