Register at https://support.fortinet.com for the latest threat protection updates.

GUI Setup

1. Connect Port 1 to an Ethernet port or USB-RJ45 Ethernet adapter on your computer using an Ethernet cable (not included).
2. Open a browser to https://192.168.1.99.

CLI Setup

1. Connect a console cable (not included) to the Console Port.
2. Open a Terminal app using 115200-8-N-1.

Default Logins

• GUI: https://192.168.1.99, Username: admin, Password: leave blank
• FortiCloud: https://fortilan.forticloud.com, Username: user-defined, Password: user-defined

Setup

GUI

Connection: Port 1 to Ethernet Port (not included) via Ethernet Cable.

IP Address: https://192.168.1.99 (Default). If Static IP: 192.168.1.1/24.

Login: Username: admin, No Password.

CLI

Connection: Console Port via Console Cable (not included).

Terminal Settings: Speed (default): 115200, Data bits: 8, Stop bits: 1, Parity: None, Flow Control: None.

FortiLink

Connection: FortiSwitch Port to FortiGate Port via Ethernet Cable (not included).

1. Login to the FortiGate and go to WiFi & Switch Controller > FortiLink Interface.
2. Add a FortiGate Port in the FortiLink interface.
3. When the device is discovered, select Authorize.
4. Optional: To automatically authorize the device upon discovery, enable "Automatically authorize devices" in the FortiLink Interface settings.

FortiLAN Cloud

Connection: FortiSwitch Port to Internet via Ethernet Cable (not included).

1. Visit https://support.fortinet.com for registration and cloud management license.
2. Sign in at https://fortilan.forticloud.com to manage your Inventory List.

RackMount

1. Secure the ears using the provided screws.
2. Install in a rack using the provided screws.

Environmental specifications

• Ambient operating temperature: 0°C to 45°C
• Rack Mount Instructions: Consider ambient temperature and airflow in rack assemblies. Ensure safe operation by not compromising airflow. Avoid hazardous conditions due to uneven mechanical loading. Consider circuit overloading and ensure reliable earthing. Refer to specific Product Model Data Sheet for detailed Environmental Specifications.

Safety

• Battery: Risk of explosion if replaced with an incorrect type. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
• CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Dispose batteries according to manufacturer's instructions. Avoid conditions that can lead to explosion or leakage (fire, hot oven, crushing, cutting, extreme temperatures, low air pressure).

• Caution: This equipment is to be used in a Network Environment 0 per IECTR 62101. This product is connected only to PoE networks without routing to the outside plant.

• Grounding: To prevent damage, connections entering from outside should pass through a lightning/surge protector and be properly grounded. Use an ESD workstation and/or anti-static wrist strap. The product has a separate protective earthing terminal on the back panel in addition to the plug's grounding terminal. This terminal must be permanently connected to earth with a green/yellow stripe conductor (minimum #14AWG) and installed by qualified personnel.
