3. Introduction
The sound level calibrator PeakTech® 8010 meets the requirements of EN 60942: 2003 Class 2, which is used to check the accuracy of sound level meters. The calibrator generates a defined sound level signal with a sound level of 94 dB (decibels) or 114 dB at a sound frequency of 1000 Hz. Sound level meters equipped with a microphone with a diameter of 1/2" (12.7mm) can be inserted into the calibration port of the calibrator. The specified accuracies are given at an atmospheric pressure of 1013 hPa, an ambient temperature of 23°C, and a humidity of 65% RH.
4. Front and Panel Description
The device features the following controls and indicators:
1. Calibration Port for microphones: The opening where the sound level meter's microphone is inserted.
2. Selection-Switch: Allows selection between OFF, 94 dB, and 114 dB output levels.
3. Battery Compartment: Located on the back of the device, housing the 9V battery.
[Description of the device image: The front view shows a blue and white cylindrical device with the PeakTech logo, model number 8010, and the selection switch. The back view shows warning labels, CE marking, battery compartment details, and manufacturer information.]
5. Measurement Operation
Insert the microphone of your sound level meter into the calibration port of the PeakTech 8010. Ensure the microphone is fully inserted.
Select the required sound level for testing (94 dB or 114 dB) using the selection switch (2).
Read the measured value on your sound level meter's display.
If the measured value does not match the calibration signal, readjust your sound level meter. Refer to your sound level meter's manual or consult your dealer for assistance.
After each measurement, turn off the sound level calibrator by selecting the "OFF" position of the switch.
The calibrator stops the output of a sound pressure level when the battery voltage falls below the minimum requirement.

7. Replacing the battery
If no sound pressure level is output, the battery needs to be replaced. Follow these steps:
Loosen the screw on the back of the battery compartment cover and remove the cover.
Disconnect the old battery from the battery cable and remove it from the battery compartment.
Connect the new 9V battery to the battery cable and place the battery in the compartment.
Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
8. Notification about the Battery Regulation

Dispose of them at a municipal collection point or return them to a local shop free of charge. Batteries obtained from PeakTech can be returned free of charge after use at the address provided on the last page, or by posting them back with sufficient postage.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with a symbol consisting of a crossed-out waste bin and the chemical symbol (Cd, Hg, or Pb) of the heavy metal responsible for the classification as a pollutant:
[Symbol: Crossed-out waste bin with Cd] "Cd" stands for Cadmium.
[Symbol: Crossed-out waste bin with Hg] "Hg" stands for Mercury.
[Symbol: Crossed-out waste bin with Pb] "Pb" stands for Lead.
