5. Ρύθμιση & Εγκατάσταση
These are general steps for replacing a pressure switch. Your specific pressure switch may look different.
- Completely de-energize power and confirm with a voltagε δοκιμαστής.
- Release all air pressure from the compressor.
- Remove the pressure switch (PS) cover.
- Note where all wires are connected and remove them from the PS.
- Disconnect the unloader tube from the side of the PS.
- On two-stage compressors, remove the pressure relief valve and pressure gauge from the PS. (Does not apply to single-stage units).
- Remove the PS from the nipple or ball valve tee.
To install the new pressure switch:
First, use Teflon tape or sealant on the threads to ensure a tight seal.
Then reverse the steps above.
Use Teflon tape or sealant on the threads of the pressure relief valve and pressure gauge when reinstalling these parts. Be sure not to cover the air passageways.
Check all wire connections for proper placement and tightness before restoring power to the unit.
Σημείωμα:
Do not thread and tighten the PS by hand when installing onto the compressor. Start by hand and then use the proper sized wrench on the hex fitting to tighten.

6. Λειτουργία
The Ingersoll Rand 23474661 Pressure Switch operates automatically to maintain optimal air pressure within your compressor tank. The switch is factory-set to cut-in at 100 psig and cut-out at 135 psig.
- When the tank pressure drops to 100 psig, the switch will activate the compressor to begin refilling the tank.
- When the tank pressure reaches 135 psig, the switch will deactivate the compressor, stopping the air production.
The ON/AUTO/OFF lever on the pressure switch allows for manual control of the compressor. In the 'AUTO' position, the compressor operates based on the pressure settings. In the 'OFF' position, the compressor is manually shut down.
7. Συντήρηση
Regular maintenance of your pressure switch ensures efficient and safe operation of your air compressor. Periodically inspect the pressure switch and all connected components for any signs of wear, damage, or air leaks. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and free from corrosion.
For detailed instructions on checking for air leaks, refer to the troubleshooting section below or the video titled "Troubleshooting Leaking Air on a Ingersoll Rand Compressor."
8. Αντιμετώπιση Προβλημάτων
Issue: Compressor Leaking Air
Συμπτώματα: A persistent hissing sound from the compressor, or bubbling when soapy water is sprayed on connections.
Πιθανές αιτίες: Leaks in tubes, intercooler, tank welds, bungs, drain valve, service valve, or a malfunctioning check valve.
Διάλυμα:
- Ensure the compressor is off and depressurized.
- Spray soapy water on all connections, welds, and valves. Look for bubbles, which indicate a leak.
- Tighten or replace any leaking components or fittings as needed.
- If the hissing sound continues at the unloader valve after the compressor shuts off, and it drains the air tank pressure, the check valve may be malfunctioning. Replace the check valve if necessary (refer to the Setup & Installation section for replacement steps).

Issue: Compressor Won't Shut Off
Συμπτώματα: The compressor continues to run past its maximum rated pressure (e.g., 135 psig for this model), causing the safety relief valve to purge excess air.
Πιθανές αιτίες: A malfunctioning pressure switch (stuck contacts) or, rarely, a fault in the magnetic starter components.
Διάλυμα:
- First, attempt to manually turn off the compressor using the ON/AUTO/OFF switch on the pressure switch or the starter box.
- If the compressor still runs, immediately turn off the power to the unit from the electrical disconnect box.
- With power disconnected, remove the pressure switch cover and inspect the contacts. If the contacts are stuck together, the pressure switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.
- If the compressor does not shut off even after attempting to turn it off at the starter box, there may be a fault in the magnetic starter components. An electrical professional should be consulted to test and repair this issue.
Σημείωμα:
Always ensure you are using the correct replacement part. Several pressure switch models may look alike but have different functions. The part number is located inside the pressure switch cover.
