Product Usage Instructions

Installation

  1. Choose the included reader cable that fits your computer
    interface.
  2. Connect the 4-wire harness to the reader header.
  3. Align the front and back housing of the reader and firmly press
    them together until they snap into place.
  4. Connect the reader to a USB port on your computer. The Red LED
    on the reader will turn on once the driver installation is
    complete.

Driver Installation

If the driver does not automatically install, follow these
steps:

  1. Go to www.rfideas.com/support/tools/downloads.
  2. Find the appropriate configuration file and complete the
    End-User License Agreement form.
  3. Download and unzip the .zip file.
  4. Refer to the USB Virtual COM Quick Start User Guide included in
    the zip file for installation instructions.

Dealer Admin

  1. Go to dealer.securecomwireless.com.
  2. Select Customers, then choose the System Name.
  3. In the menu, navigate to User Codes and select the Add
    icon.

Virtual Keypad

  1. Go to virtualkeypad.com.
  2. Select Users and click on the Plus icon to add a new user.

Remote Link

  1. Select the panel for connection from the list in the Panel
    Information window.
  2. Add a new user by entering their information and scanning their
    proximity device code.

FAQ

How do I scan a proximity card?

To scan a proximity card, follow these steps:

  1. Select the General Tab on the left side of the window.
  2. Click Read next to the Card # window.

How do I generate a User Code from a card?

To generate a User Code from a card, follow these steps:

  1. Select the User Code Tab on the left side of the window.
  2. Click Generate next to the User code window.

Installation Sheet

1 INSTALL THE READER 1. Choose the included reader cable that fits your computer interface, then connect the 4-wire harness to the reader header.

2. Align the reader’s front housing with the back housing. Place the cable through the opening at the top of the reader, then firmly press the front and back housings together until they snap into place. Refer to Figure 2.

DESCRIPTION
The USB Multi-technology Enrollment Reader allows you to scan proximity or contactless card swipes using Dealer Admin, Virtual Keypad, Remote Link, or Entré. Instead of manually typing in each user code, you can connect directly into the USB port to read ID card identification information. The reader draws power from the computer USB port, so no additional power is
necessary.
COMPATIBILITY

3. Use the end of the cable to connect the reader to a USB port on a computer. WindowsTM recognizes the new hardware and initiates the driver installation in the background.
4. Once the driver has finished installing, the Red LED on the reader turns on.

If the driver does not automatically install, complete the following steps:
1. Go to www.rfideas.com/support/tools/downloads.
2. Find the appropriate configuration file, then complete the End-User License Agreement form. Select Submit for the file to automatically download, then unzip the .zip file.
3. Follow the USB Virtual COM Quick Start User Guide included in the zip file to install the reader.

2 USE THE READER To use the reader with Dealer Admin, Virtual Keypad, Remote Link, or Entré, complete the following steps:

Dealer Admin

· Dealer Admin

1. Go to dealer.securecomwireless.com.

· Virtual Keypad

2. Go to Customers, then select the System Name.

· Remote Link

3. In the menu, go to User Codes, and select the Add icon.

· Entré

4. Enter the User Name.

5. In Credential Type, select Card.

6. Place your cursor in the Card Number field. Scan your proximity card. In Card Number, the card number automatically displays.

7. Configure additional options as needed.

8. At the top of the screen, select Send.

Virtual Keypad
1. Go to virtualkeypad.com. 2. Go to Users and select the Plus icon. 3. Enter the user’s Personal Information. 4. Select the user’s authority level, or assign profiles or groups to
the user. 5. At User Codes, go to Type and select Credential. 6. Place your cursor in the Internal Number field. Scan your
proximity card. In Internal Number, the card number automatically displays. 7. Configure additional options as needed. 8. At the top of the screen, select Save.

Remote Link
1. Open File > Panel Information to select the panel for connection from the list in the Panel Information window. Click OK to open that panel.
2. Open Program > User Codes. To add a new user, select New and enter all of the user information. 3. Select Scan Card while entering user information to scan in the user code number from a proximity device.
Then, present the proximity device to the reader. When the proximity device is scanned, the LED on the reader flashes Green. The proximity device user code is then automatically assigned to the user. Note: Refer to the Remote Link Help File for information about adding users.
Entré
Open Management > Badges from the main menu to open up a Badge window, then select Add to add a card to the system.
Scan the Card # 1. Select the General Tab on the left side of the window. 2. Select Read next to the Card # window. 3. Scan your proximity card. The card number then displays in the Card # field.

Generate a User Code from the Card 1. Select the User Code Tab on the left side of the window. 2. Select Generate next to the User code window. 3. From the drop down menu, select Generate from card number. 4. The User Code displays in the User Code field. 5. Select Save and Close near the top of the window.
