OPERATION
Key Operating Steps
- Ensure both buckets and the String Filter Housing canister are filled with water
- Use red leverage handles when loosening or tighening bucket lids
- The faucet should be pointing towards the basin.
- Plug in Cink 2 foot switch to grounded outlet, then plug in pump.
- Keep your foot depressed on the foot switch for continuous water flow. Do not use your hands.
- WARNING! NEVER block the sink basin drain and fill the basin with water to wash parts. This may cause the buckets to collapse if the pump keeps pumping.
- The Cink 2 system is designed to function with continuous recirculation of water.
- Note: Under heavy continuous use, water may become cloudy. If the system is allowed sedimentation time, finer particles will settle.
- You should periodically refresh the water in the system (at least once per week) after adequate sedimentation time is allowed for instructions.
- Note: Unplug the Cink 2 if it will be left unattended for extended periods.
MAINTENANCE
- To maintain Cink 2, you will need to empty the drain bucket, filter bucket, and string filter housing. Clean the filter bag and replace the string filter cartridge periodically.
- You may also need to winterize or prepare the Cink 2 for periods of inactivity.
- Remember, as you perform these maintenance steps, small amounts of water may leak out from the system.
Emptying the Drain Bucket
- The drain bucket is intended to capture most of the clay and slip that will be put into Cink 2. You will need to empty this bucket more frequently than cleaning or replacing the other two filters.
To empty the drain bucket when it has collected a significant amount of clay:
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Disconnect the drain bucket from the bag bucket.
- Disconnect the drain union by pulling down on the handles.
- Twist it counterclockwise to remove the lid. Pour off water and remove waste clay.
- Refill the drain bucket with fresh water to the fill line.
- Reattach the lid, ensuring it is seated properly and tight.
- Latch the drain union by pushing the handles upward.
- Reconnect the drain bucket to the filter bucket by reattaching the quick disconnect.
Emptying the Filter Bucket and Cleaning the Bag Filter
- The bag filter in the filter bucket is designed to stop small particles and debris that do not settle in the drain bucket.
- This filter can usually be cleaned instead of replaced. The sediment level in the bottom of the filter bucket should not be allowed to get above 1 inch.
To empty the filter bucket and clean the bag filter:
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Disconnect both quick disconnects.
- Remove the 2 bucket lids by twisting them counterclockwise.
- Remove the bag filter by pushing up, then tilt at an angle and pull off sideways.
- Pour out water from a bucket and remove clay sediment. Refill with clean water to the fill line.
- Clean and reinstall bthe ag filter.
- Reattach the lid, ensuring it is seated properly and tight.
- Roll buckets back under the basin and reconnect the drain bucket to the clay bucket by attaching a quick disconnect. Reconnect clay bucket to the string filter housing.
Changing the String Filter in the String Filter Housing
- The string filter housing collects ultra-fine clay particles and should be cleaned at least every 3 months.
- Eventually, the pores of the filter cartridge will fill up, and the water flow from the nozzle will decrease.
- At that time, please visit diamondcoretools.com, call 6199059400 or email cink@diamondcoretools.com to purchase replacement string filters.
To change the string filter:
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Push down on the red button on top of the string filter housing to release vacuum pressure.
- Turn the blue filter housing to the left to remove it.
- CAUTION: Filter housing is full of water.
- Remove and clean the string filter and string filter housing. Do not misplace the black O-ring.
- Remove the black O-ring and wipe the groove clean. Place the O-ring back into the groove. Replace it if it is damaged or crimped.
- Reinsert clean or new string filter, make sure that it slips down over the standpipe inside on the bottom of the string filter housing. Refill with water to the top of the housing.
- Reconnect the blue filter housing, making sure that the string filter slips over the upper standpipe.
- Twist the string filter housing to the right and hand-tighten.
- DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
- Ensure the faucet is aimed down towards the basin.
- Reconnect to the outlet.
Winterizing the Cink 2 (Cold Weather or Freezing Conditions)
- CAUTION: The Cink 2 is NOT designed to operate or be stored with water or clay in it during freezing conditions.
- If freezing conditions are anticipated, remove all water and clay from the entire system. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage to the system caused by the user due to cold weather or freezing conditions.
- Unplug the unit, empty and clean both buckets and the string filter housing. DO NOT REPLACE ANY WATER.
- Drain the pump by removing the impeller faceplate.
- Keep the unit unplugged for the duration of disuse.
Extended Non-Use of the Cink 2
