    Question

I'm having trouble pairing my new Dewenwils receivers with the remote control. I've followed the programming steps, and the receiver flashes quickly as if paired, but it doesn't respond to the remote. What should I do?

    Answer

It sounds like you've followed the programming steps correctly, but the receiver isn't responding. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps based on the manual:

    • Check the remote battery: If the indicator on the transmitter (remote) becomes dim, replace the remote battery with a new DC 12V (type 23A) battery, ensuring the polarity is correct. Low battery power can decrease the wireless remote range.
    • Ensure proper connection and power: Make sure the receiver and any connected appliance are properly connected and powered on.
    • Remote too far: The remote transmitter might be too far away to control the receiver. Try pairing and testing at a closer range.
    • Maximum load: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum load for the outlet.
    • Repeat programming carefully: Sometimes repeating the programming steps precisely can resolve the issue. The steps are:
      1. Cancel existing programming by unplugging the connected device and receiver, then pressing and holding the program button on the receiver while plugging it back in for about 5 seconds until the indicator flashes several times and stops.
      2. Press the program button on the receiver for 6 seconds until the indicator light starts to flash slowly.
      3. Release the program button.
      4. Press the "on" or "off" button on the remote control.
      5. Programming is successful when the indicator light stops blinking.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, the manual suggests contacting Dewenwils customer service directly, providing your Order ID for better assistance.

    Question

How can I purchase replacement remote controls for the Dewenwils DHORS12A wireless socket?

    Answer

Manuals+ is a platform for viewing and downloading product manuals and does not sell replacement parts or process invoices directly. To purchase replacement remote controls for your Dewenwils DHORS12A, you should contact the manufacturer directly.

According to the manual, Dewenwils offers a dedicated customer service team that responds within 24 hours. You can reach out to them through their official website or the marketplace where you originally purchased the item (such as Amazon). When contacting them, please include your Order ID so they can assist you with the correct replacement parts.

Once you receive your new remotes, you can pair them with your existing sockets by following the Programming the Receiver instructions on page 2 of the manual:

    1. Press the program button on the receiver for 6 seconds until the indicator light flashes slowly.
    2. Release the button and press the "ON" or "OFF" button on the new remote control.
    3. Programming is successful when the indicator light stops blinking.

    Question

How do I access the battery compartment on the Dewenwils wireless remote control transmitter?

    Answer

According to the Battery Replacement section on page 3 of the manual, the battery compartment is located on the back of the wall-switch transmitter. While the back may appear to be one solid piece, it features a sliding panel at the bottom.

To access the battery and remove the isolation tab:

    • Locate the small indentation or grip area on the lower portion of the back of the remote.
    • Apply firm pressure and slide the cover downward (away from the buttons) to reveal the battery compartment.
    • Once open, you can remove the plastic isolation tab or replace the 12V (23A) battery.

If the cover feels stuck, ensure you are sliding it rather than trying to pry it off, as it is designed to slide along a track. If your specific unit truly has a seamless one-piece back without a visible seam for a sliding door, it may be a manufacturing defect or a slightly different hardware revision; in that case, you should contact Dewenwils customer service as noted on the cover of your manual.

    Question

How do I access the battery compartment on the Dewenwils wireless remote control to remove the isolation tab?

    Answer

Based on the product manual, the battery compartment is located on the back of the wall-switch style transmitter. While it may appear to be one solid piece, there is a sliding cover designed to provide access to the battery.

To access the battery and remove the isolation tab:

    • Flip the remote over to the back side.
    • Look for a small indentation or arrow indicating a sliding panel.
    • Slide the bottom portion of the back cover downward (away from the buttons) to reveal the battery compartment.
    • Once open, you can pull out the plastic isolation tab to activate the 12V (23A) battery.

If the unit is mounted to the wall plate, you must first pull the remote switch out of the magnetic wall plate holder to access the back of the device.

    Question

Why are my Dewenwils remote sockets failing, with some permanently powered on and others having no output despite the indicator light working?

    Answer

Based on your description of the Dewenwils Wireless Remote Control Sockets, here are the troubleshooting steps to address the different failures you are experiencing:

    • For sockets permanently powered: This often indicates a hardware failure where the internal relay has fused shut, especially if the unit does not respond to a reset or manual switch. Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum power rating of 15A or 1875W, as overloading can cause this.
    • For sockets with Red Light ON/OFF but no output: If the indicator light toggles but no power reaches the plugged-in device, first verify the device itself works in a standard wall outlet. If it does, the internal connection in the receiver may be faulty.
    • General Troubleshooting & Re-pairing: Since you mentioned only one is working, try a full re-pairing cycle for the others:
      1. Cancel Programming: Unplug the receiver. Press and hold the program button. While holding, plug it back in and wait about 5 seconds until the indicator flashes, then release.
      2. Re-program: Press and hold the program button on the receiver for 6 seconds until the light flashes slowly. Press the "ON" or "OFF" button on the remote. The light will stop blinking when successful.
    • Check the Remote Battery: If the transmitter battery is low, it can cause erratic behavior. Replace the remote battery with a new 12V (23A) battery.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, the units may be defective. Dewenwils offers a One Year Limited Warranty; you should contact their customer service with your Order ID for further assistance.

  6. Hi. I have a few of these and have been very happy with them. Recently though I find they have been turning on randomly. Example. I use the switch and turn off the the light (living room), get ready for bed and go to bed. I awake during the night and the light in the living room is on. This is not eveyday, but fairly often now. It doesn’t seem tot do this during the day while I am away. Is it maybe a low battery? Ideas?

    Question

Why is my dewenwils Wireless Remote Control Socket turning on randomly, and could it be a low battery?

    Answer

Random activation of your dewenwils Wireless Remote Control Socket could be due to a low battery in the remote control. The manual states that if the indicator on the transmitter becomes dim, or if the receivers work abnormally, you should replace the remote battery with a new DC 12V (type 23A) battery. Low battery power can also decrease the readable wireless remote range. While the manual doesn't explicitly list random activation as a symptom of a low battery, it is a common issue with wireless devices when the battery is weak. It's a good first step to try replacing the battery in your remote control.

  7. I have a set of 5 remote control sockets for use with UK 3 pin sockets Model BH9912B. Two of the sockets work with remote on buttons 1 & 2 and these also turn off using buttons 1 & 2. However, one of the sockets also turns on & off using no5. No matter what I do I cannot get the sockets to reset and work using individual buttons. Remote buttons 3&4 work as they should and are not affected by pressing any other button other than the one dedicated. How can I reset the controllers to function just using the dedicated button I program them to?

    Question

How do I reset and reprogram my Dewenwils BH9912B wireless sockets to work with individual buttons?

    Answer

To resolve the issue where a socket responds to multiple buttons, you must first clear the existing memory (reset) and then reprogram it to the specific button you want. Follow these steps based on the Dewenwils manual:

    1. Canceling Programming (Resetting the Socket)

    • Unplug the receiver from the wall outlet.
    • Press and hold the program button on the side of the receiver.
    • While still holding the button, plug the receiver back into the powered outlet.
    • Continue holding the button for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator light begins to flash.
    • The reset is successful when the indicator flashes several times and then stops blinking. The socket should no longer respond to any remote buttons.

    2. Programming to a Dedicated Button

    • Press and hold the program button on the receiver for about 6 seconds until the indicator light starts to flash slowly.
    • Release the program button.
    • Press the specific ON or OFF button on your remote that you wish to pair with that socket.
    • The indicator light will stop blinking, confirming that the pairing is successful.

Repeat this process for each socket to ensure they are only paired with their intended buttons. Note that if you skip the 'Canceling Programming' step, the socket may retain old pairings and continue to respond to multiple buttons.

    1. Unplug any connected device from the receiver.
    2. Unplug the receiver from the wall outlet.
