Purpose of the device

• The DEP030 charger is an electrical device for charging free-flow lead-acid batteries used in motorcycles, passenger cars, delivery vehicles, yachts, etc. The DEP030 charger can operate in fast charging mode. This mode is recommended when quick battery charging is required. It will stimulate the battery and limit the starting current, while reducing the power consumption from the mains during charging.
• The charger also allows the vehicle to be started with a minimally charged battery.
• The device may be used in renovation and construction works, repair workshops, and amateur works, provided that the conditions of use and permissible operating conditions specified in the operating instructions are observed.

Restrictions on use
The device may only be used in accordance with the “Permissible operating conditions” listed below.

WARNING

• The following restrictions on use must be strictly observed.
• Do not use the charger to charge batteries other than lead-acid batteries. Never charge disposable batteries. Use only in closed rooms with proper ventilation. Unauthorised changes to the mechanical and electrical design, any modifications, or maintenance activities not described in the operating instructions will be considered unlawful and will result in the immediate loss of warranty rights, and the declaration of conformity will become invalid.
• Use contrary to the intended purpose or contrary to the operating instructions will result in immediate loss of warranty rights.

Permissible operating conditions
The device may only be used in enclosed spaces with efficient ventilation. Protect from moisture and low temperatures.

Preparation for operation

WARNING

• All preparatory activities should be carried out with the device disconnected from the power supply.  Before charging the battery, make sure that the battery capacity is not less than the minimum capacity indicated on the charger’s rating plate. Place the charger on a level, stable surface, away from flammable materials and sources of open flame. Arrange the power cord and charging cables so that they are not exposed to damage (abrasion, crushing, etc.). Check the condition of the charger cables each time; if any cable is damaged, do not use the charger. Check that the switch is set to “off” (marked “O” on the switch – see Fig. A, item 6).
• Check the condition of the battery before starting charging.
• Be particularly careful when checking the battery, as it contains acid.
• Detailed information is provided in the battery manual, which must be read carefully.

Connection to the mains

• Before connecting the device to the power supply, ensure that the supply voltage corresponds to the value indicated on the rating plate.
• The power supply installation should be carried out in accordance with the basic requirements for electrical installations and meet the safety requirements for use. The parameters for the minimum cross-section of the power cable and the nominal value of the fuse, depending on the power of the device, are given in the table below:

The installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. When using extension cords, make sure that the cross-section of the conductor is not smaller than required (see table). Lay the electrical cable so that it is not exposed to cutting during operation. Do not use damaged extension cords. Periodically check the technical condition of the power cord. Do not pull on the power cord.

Switching on the device

WARNING

• Before starting the device, it is essential to perform the steps described in the “Preparation for operation”
• Always connect the rectifier to a power supply with a grounded neutral wire.
• Device switch: located at the rear of the charger (Fig. B item 6). The ON position means that the device is switched on, OFF means that it is switched off; in addition, the status of the charger is indicated by a LED in the switch.

Using the device
The charger allows you to charge both batteries that are disconnected from the vehicle’s electrical system and batteries connected to the vehicle’s electrical system.

WARNING

• The charger should be connected to the battery with the plug removed from the socket.
• Charging batteries disconnected from the vehicle’s electrical system

1. Connect the charger terminals to the battery terminals. First connect the red terminal to the positive (+) terminal, then the black terminal to the negative (-) terminal. Attempting to connect the terminals in reverse will cause the short-circuit fuse to blow.
2. Connect the charger to the power supply.
3. Set the charging voltage according to the parameters of the battery being charged (depending on the charger model and battery parameters, 12V or 24V).
4. Switch on the charger with the ON button.
5. Monitor the battery charging current using the charger display (Fig. A, item 1). In the first phase of charging, the current will be high, then it will decrease over time. Battery charging should take 8 to 16 hours, depending on the degree of battery discharge. The charging process should be supervised by the user.
6. After charging is complete, switch off the charger, disconnect it from the mains and remove the clamp terminals in the reverse order to connection.

The charger enables rapid battery charging. To select rapid charging mode, in step 3, additionally set the charging mode switch to the BOOST position and continue charging the battery.

Charging batteries connected to the vehicle’s electrical system

1. Check the polarity of the battery terminals. The positive terminal is the terminal that is not connected to the vehicle chassis.
2. Connect the red (+) terminal of the charger to the positive terminal of the battery.
3. Connect the black terminal of the charger (-) to the negative terminal of the battery. Attempting to connect the terminals in reverse will cause the short-circuit fuse to blow.
4. Connect the charger to the power supply.
5. Set the charging voltage according to the parameters of the battery being charged (depending on the charger model and battery parameters, 12V or 24V).
6. Switch on the charger with the ON button.
7. Monitor the battery charging current using the ammeter on the charger. In the first phase of charging, the current will be high, then it will decrease over time. Battery charging should take 8 to 16 hours, depending on the degree of battery discharge.
8. After charging is complete, switch off the charger, disconnect it from the mains, and remove the clamp terminals in the reverse order to connection. The charger enables fast battery charging. To select the fast charging mode, set the charging mode switch to the BOOST position in step 5.

Starting

WARNING Before starting the vehicle with the charger, read the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations. The following operations must be performed with particular care.

To start the vehicle, you must:

1. set the switch (Fig. A item 2) to the start position
2. set the charging voltage switch (Fig. A item 3) to the appropriate battery voltage
3. perform a quick charge for approx. 10 minutes according to the mode described on the panel (3 seconds of charging, approx. 120 seconds of pause, 5 cycles)
4. turn the key in the car ignition.

WARNING

• The start-up should be carried out in strict accordance  with the procedure described above.
• Failure to comply with these instructions may result in damage to the battery or the vehicle’s electrical system.

Routine maintenance

WARNING

• All maintenance activities should be carried out with the device disconnected from the power supply.
• All maintenance activities should be carried out with the plug removed from the socket.
• Always check the condition of the charger cables (power supply and current cables). Do not use a charger with damaged cables.
• Clean the rectifier’s current terminals after each use.
• Avoid contact between the current terminals when the rectifier is switched on. This will cause the fuse to blow.

Charger safety features

• The charger is equipped with two-stage protection. Thermal protection protects the charger transformer from overheating and damage. Electrical protection will activate in the event of a short circuit.
• If the thermal protection is activated, which will cause the rectifier to switch off, wait a few minutes for the transformer to cool down, and the fuse should reset automatically.
• If the short-circuit fuse is activated, which will cause the charger to switch off, unscrew the fuse cap, replace the damaged fuse with a working one, and screw the cap back on.
• Do not use fuses with parameters other than those recommended, as this may damage the rectifier.

Spare parts and accessories

• To purchase spare parts and accessories, please contact Dedra Exim Service. Contact details can be found on page 1 of the manual.
• When ordering spare parts, please provide the batch number located on the nameplate and describe the damaged part, additionally providing the approximate date of purchase of the device.
• During the warranty period, repairs are carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the warranty card. Please return the product subject to complaint for repair to the place of purchase (the seller is obliged to accept the product subject to complaint), send it to the Dedra Exim central service centre or send it to the service centre closest to your place of residence (list of service centres at www.dedra.pl). Please enclose the completed warranty card. After the warranty period, repairs are carried out by the central service centre.
• The damaged product should be sent to the service centre (shipping costs are covered by the user).

Information for users about the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (applies to households)

The symbol shown on the products or accompanying documentation informs that faulty electrical or electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste. The correct course of action when disposal, reuse or recovery of components is to take the device to a specialized collection point, where it will be accepted free of charge. Information on the location of collection sites for waste equipment is provided by local authorities, e.g. on their websites.
Proper disposal of the device allows you to conserve valuable resources and avoid negative health and environmental impacts resulting from the possibility of hazardous: substances, mixtures and components in the equipment. Improper disposal of waste is subject to penalties under relevant local regulations.
Users in European Union countries: If you need to dispose of electrical or electronic equipment, please contact your nearest retailer or supplier, who will provide more information.
Disposal of waste in countries outside the European Union: This symbol applies only to countries within the European Union. If you need to dispose of this product, please contact your local authorities or your dealer for proper disposal.

Product Liability:

1. Guarantor – Dedra Exim Sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Pruszkow, address: ul. 3 Maja 8, 05-800 Pruszków, KRS 0000062517, District Court for the City of Warsaw in Warsaw, XIV Economic Department of the National Court Register, NIP 527-020-49-33, share capital: PLN 100,980.00.
2. Under the terms of this warranty card, the Guarantor guarantees the Product, originating from the Guarantor’s distribution.
3. Liability under the warranty shall cover only defects arising from causes inherent in the Product at the time of its release to the User.
4. By virtue of the warranty, the User, obtains the right to repair the Product free of charge, if the defect became apparent during the warranty period. The method of repairing the Product (the method of performing the repair) is at the discretion of the Guarantor. If the Guarantor finds that repair is not possible, the Guarantor reserves the right to replace the defective element or the entire Product with a defect-free one, reduce the price of the Product or withdraw from the contract.
5. In relation to the User who is not a consumer within the meaning of the Act of April 23, 1964. Civil Code, the Guarantor’s liability for damages resulting from this guarantee and/or in connection with its conclusion and execution, regardless of the legal title, is limited to a maximum of the value of the defective Product.

Warranty Period:

Conditions for taking advantage of the warranty:

1. The User must present the completed warranty card for the Product and the User must substantiate the circumstances of the purchase of the Product, e.g. by presenting a receipt, invoice, etc. In order to carry out the claim efficiently, the User is advised to submit with the Product for claim all the elements specified in the “Completion of the device” included in the User’s Manual.
2. compliance by the User with the recommendations contained in the User’s Manual and the warranty card.
3. The warranty covers only the territory of the Republic of Poland and the EU.
4. The warranty does not cover Product defects arising in particular from:
   • Failure by the User to comply with the conditions set forth in the User’s Manual, particularly with regard to proper operation, maintenance and cleaning;
   • Use of cleaning or maintenance products by the User that do not comply with the User’s Manual;
   • Inadequate storage and transportation of the Product by the User;
   • Unauthorized changes and/or alterations to the Product by the User, which were not agreed upon with the Guarantor;
   • User’s use of consumables in the Product that do not comply with the User’s Manual.
   • A user who is not a consumer within the meaning of the Act of April 23, 1964. Civil Code, forfeits the warranty on the Product in which:
   • serial numbers, date markings and nameplates have been removed, altered or damaged by the User;
   • the seals have been damaged by the User or bear signs of tampering by the User.
5. Note: Activities related to the daily operation of the Product, resulting, among other things, from the User’s Manual, shall be performed by the User on his/her own and at his/her own expense.

Complaint Procedure:

1. In the event that the Product is found not to be working properly, make sure that all the operations specified in particular in the User’s Manual have been performed correctly before making a claim.
2. It is recommended to make a complaint immediately, preferably within 7 days from the date of noticing a defect in the Product. The User, who is not a consumer within the meaning of the Act of April 23, 1964. Civil Code, loses his/her rights under this warranty if he/she fails to report a complaint within 7 days.
3. Claims may be filed, among others, at the point of purchase of the Product, at the warranty service or in writing to the address: Dedra Exim Sp. z o.o., ul. 3 Maja 8, 05-800 Pruszków.
4. The user may file a complaint using the form available on the website www.dedra.pl. (“Warranty Claim Form”).
5. Addresses of warranty services for specific countries are available at www.dedra.pl. In the absence of a warranty service for a particular country, warranty claims are recommended to be addressed to: Dedra Exim Sp. z o.o. ul. 3 Maja 8, 05-800 Pruszków (Poland).
6. With a view to the safety of the User, it is prohibited to use a defective Product.
7. Caution: using a defective Product is dangerous to the health and life of the User.
8. The fulfillment of obligations under the warranty will be carried out within 14 working days from the date of delivery of the claimed Product by the User.
9. Before delivering the defective Product for complaint, it is recommended to clean it. The Product under complaint is recommended to be carefully protected against damage in transit (it is recommended to deliver the Product under complaint in its original packaging).
10. The warranty period shall be extended by the time during which, due to a defect in the Product covered by the warranty, the User could not use it.
    The warranty does not exclude, limit or suspend the User’s rights under the warranty provisions for defects of the sold thing.

Pursuant to Article 13 (1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter: “RODO”), we inform you of the following

The Administrator’s suppliers are obliged to ensure data security and meet the requirements of the applicable law related to personal data protection and may not use the entrusted personal data for purposes other than those specified in the contract with the Administrator.
