Setup Options

Set up your Fortinet device locally or connect using forticloud.com

GUI Setup

  1. Connect the Ethernet Cable to Port 1 and your Management Computer.
  2. Access the setup interface via https://192.168.1.99 in your web browser.
  3. Log in with username 'admin' and leave the password blank.

Note: For static IP configuration, use 192.168.1.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

FortiGate Cloud Key Setup

  1. Go to forticloud.com and log in with your FortiCloud Credentials or Register.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions, then click Add FortiGate.
  3. Enter the FortiGate Cloud Key located on the sticker of your device.

CLI Setup

  1. Connect the USB Console Cable (available for purchase) to the Console Port and your Management Computer.
  2. Configure your terminal emulator with the following settings: Speed: 9600, Data bits: 8, Stop bits: 1, Parity: None, Flow Control: None.
  3. Access the CLI interface.

Environmental specifications

Ambient operating temperature: 0°C to 40°C. Refer to specific Product Model Data Sheet for Environmental Specifications (Operating Temperature, Storage Temperature, Humidity, and Altitude).

Safety

Battery: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. They may explode. Dispose of used batteries according to your local regulations. IMPORTANT: Switzerland: Annex 4.10 of SR814.013 applies to batteries.

Power Connection: This product is intended to be supplied by a Listed pluggable A via Class I external power supply adapter by means of a power cord connected to a socket-outlet with earthing connection.
