Product Usage Instructions

Room Heating Solution:
If your system is based on an electric heat source like electric floor heating or an electric radiator, ensure a Danfoss LinkTM RS is installed to control the room temperature via the relay.

Electric Floor Heating with Floor Sensor:
If your installation includes electric floor heating with a built-in floor sensor (embedded in concrete), ensure proper setup for accurate temperature control.

Checking System Configuration:
To determine if your system operates based on room or floor temperature:

  • Access the room on the Danfoss LinkTM panel.
  • Select Heat control in the House control menu.
  • If a thermometer appears on the display, it indicates an ordinary room sensor. For a floor sensor, the thermometer will be displayed on the floor of a house.

Using with Electric Radiator:
If using the relay with an electric radiator and Danfoss LinkTM RS, set the radiator’s thermostat to the highest temperature for effective operation.

Important Note:
The wireless relay also functions as a repeater unit to amplify signals for a strong wireless network. Ensure the relay is always powered on for optimal performance.

Danfoss Link™ FT/FT-S wireless relay units

  • Your wireless system includes one or more wireless relays.

The wireless relay is mostly used in one of the following ways:

  1. As part of a room heating solution based on an electric heat source (electric floor heating or an electric radiator). In this case, the system also has a Danfoss Link™ RS installed, which controls the room tempera-ture via the heat source/relay.
  2. In installations with electric floor heating, in which there is also a built-in floor sensor (the sensor is embedded in the concrete).

Does my system have a built-in floor sensor?

  • You can easily see if your system is controlled by room or floor temperature by accessing the room in question on the Danfoss Link™ panel. Simply select Heat control in the House con-trol menu.
  • If the room is controlled by an ordinary room sensor, a thermometer will appear in the display. If, on the other hand, the room is fitted with a floor sensor, a thermometer will be shown in the floor of a house.
  • If the relay is used with an electric radiator along with a Danfoss Link™ RS
  • it is important that the radiator’s own ther-mostat is set to the highest possible setting (which takes the thermostat out of play).
  • Please note! The wireless relay also functions as a repeater unit (signal amplifier) and helps to secure a strong wireless network. The relay must therefore always be on.

Does my system have a built-in floor sensor?
You can check if your system uses a built-in floor sensor by accessing the room settings on the Danfoss LinkTM panel. A displayed thermometer on the floor indicates the presence of a floor sensor, while a thermometer on the display signifies an ordinary room sensor.

How should I set the thermostat on an electric radiator when using the relay?
When using the relay with an electric radiator and Danfoss LinkTM RS, ensure the radiator’s thermostat is set to the highest possible temperature to optimize performance.
