FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the computer with PowerPanel Gateway installed need to be powered on and working in order for the UPS units to connect to PowerPanel Cloud?

Yes, the computer running the Gateway software must be powered on and functioning. If the computer is off or asleep, the Gateway and any devices connected through it will also go offline.

Will I be able to connect all our UPS units at our different sites — that have different IP ranges — to PowerPanel Cloud now?

Yes, a single Gateway can connect UPS units at different sites, provided the computer it is installed on can access them. However, each discovery job within PowerPanel Cloud can only be configured for one IP address range at a time. Therefore, you will need to create multiple discovery jobs if your UPS units are located in different IP ranges, but you can select the same Gateway for all of them.

I’ve added a device through PowerPanel Gateway, but I’m not receiving any alerts from it. What could be going wrong?

To receive alerts from devices added through PowerPanel Gateway, ensure that the trap settings on your RMCARD or SNMP management page include the IP address of the computer where PowerPanel Gateway is installed. This configuration is necessary for PowerPanel Gateway to successfully receive traps from your devices.
