Product Usage Instructions
Installation
- Remove the factory display screen to gain access.
- Using the provided t-harness, plug one end into the factory harness (54-pin connector, not the radio).
- Connect the other end of the t-harness to the display screen.
- Locate the C-125 and C-500 modules on the t-harness (8-pin connectors) and connect them properly.
- Set DIP switch 6 on both modules to the ON position.
Coding the Vehicle
- Ensure RVCFD-79 is completely installed in the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition to the ON position. For push-start vehicles, press the button once to set the ignition to ON.
- Power up the radio, and select the FM radio source to verify that the interface is responding to the radio.

- Q: What should I do before performing a vehicle system reflash?
- A: Unplug the RVCFD-79 two modules before performing a vehicle system reflash. Repeat the coding process after flashing the vehicle system.
- Q: How do I activate the rearview camera feature?

DIP SWITCH SETTINGS
- Make sure to set DIP# 6 to the ON position in both modules.
- To turn on the RVC feature, set DIP# 2 to the ON position on the C-125 module ONLY.
- To turn on the VIM feature, set the module DIP switches as follows.
For vehicles WITH factory navigation systems:

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Remove the factory display screen to gain access to the 54-pin connector. (Not the radio)
- Using the provided t-harness, plug one end of the t-harness into the factory harness.
- Plug the other end of the t-harness to the display screen.
- Locate the 8-pin connectors on the t-harness labeled C-125 and C-500.
- Connect both the C-125 and C-500 modules to their proper 8-pin connectors on the t-harness.
- Set the DIP switch “6” on both modules to the ON position.
CODING THE VEHICLE
In order to activate the rearview camera feature, the radio must first be coded.
- With the RVCFD-79 completely installed in the vehicle, turn the ignition to the ON position. For vehicles with a push start button, press the button once to set the ignition to ON.
- When the radio powers up, turn ON the radio and select FM radio source. This verifies that the interface is responding to the radio.
- While listening to the FM source, set DIP#2 on the C-125 module to ON. The screen will power off and begin to reset.

The progress bar will show the percentage completed. This process may take up to 1 minute. Once completed the FM radio source will continue to play as it was before the reboot.
CAMERA ACTIVATION
CAMERA ACTIVATION AND INSTALLATION
To test if the rearview camera coding was completed correctly, place the vehicle into reverse gear.
- With the rearview camera disconnected, start the vehicle and place the vehicle in reverse gear.
- The radio display will display an error message of “Camera Unavailable”. This verifies that the coding was successful.
- Install the camera according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Tap the camera’s power to the C-125’s white wire labeled “Reverse 12V Output”. Tap the camera ground to the black wire on the 8-pin connector.
- See diagram above. Note that this interface does not support the zoom + and zoom – functions of the factory display.
ACTIVATING THE VIDEO IN MOTION FEATURE
- The VIM feature can be set to permanent or non-permanent depending on the customer’s preference.
PERMANENT ACTIVATION:
- Turn DIP# 1 to ON to set the video in motion feature to the permanent option.
- NOTE: With this option active, the navigation (if equipped) will not be able to update in real-time.
- Set DIP#1 to the ON position on BOTH C-125 and C-500 modules.
NON-PERMANENT ACTIVATION #1:
- Turn DIP# 1 to OFF to set the video in motion feature to a non-permanent option.
- Some vehicles will allow the VIM feature to be activated and deactivated using the steering wheel controls. There are 2 types of SWC controls that allow this function. See the pictures below for reference.
- NOTE: Deactivating VIM will allow the navigation (if equipped) to update in real-time.
- SWC Type 1:
- Seen on Ford Edge and C-Max. Hold the BACK button (left arrow) for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate the VIM feature.
- SWC Type 2:
- Seen on Ford F-Series trucks. Hold the PHONE button for 4 seconds to activate or deactivate the VIM feature.
NON-PERMANENT ACTIVATION #2:
- This is the most universal method of enabling/disabling the VIM feature. This method will work on all applications, regardless of SWC type or if the vehicle is equipped with a navigation system.
- The diagram below will assist you on how to connect a toggle switch to the RVCFD-79 t-harness.
- Turn DIP# 1 to OFF to set the video in motion feature to a non-permanent option.
- NOTE: Deactivating VIM will allow the navigation (if equipped) to update in real-time.
- Step 1: Connect the GREEN wires from both the C-125 and C-500 module harnesses to one leg of the toggle switch.
- Step 2: Tap a wire from the RED (12V constant) wire on the C-500 module harness to the other leg of the toggle switch.
- Step 3: Mount the toggle switch in an accessible location to be able to activate or deactivate the VIM feature.
