Contents

  • 6 Octopus Tentacles
  • 12 Cups
  • 24 Cards

Objective

Two-player game. Race to stack your cups to match the patterns on the cards and earn the most points to win!

Set Up

  1. Each player gets 3 octopus tentacles and 6 cups (one of each colour).
  2. Place the octopus tentacles on your thumb, index finger, and middle finger.
  3. Arrange your cups in a row in front of you, within easy reach.
  4. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile where both players can see.
Note: The cards have two sides- blue (easy) and red (difficult). Decide together which side to use?

How to Play

  1. One player starts by flipping the top card and placing it next to the pile for both players to see. Then shout, “Start!” to begin the round.
  2. Both players race to stack their cups to match the pattern on the card using only their octopus tentacles.
  3. The first player to finish shouts, “Done!” and the round pauses.
Note: Both players check if the stack matches the card. If correct, that player keeps the card as a point. If the stack is wrong, the other player can claim the card as a point.
  4. After a player earns a point, both players reset their cups into a row.
  5. The second player takes the next turn, flipping over another card, and the game continues!

When all the cards have been played, the player with the most cards at the end of the game wins!
