Smart connectivity guidelines
Smart controls allow you to control lights and power sources using the internet on your phone or computer.
You can pair Corston switches with smart control boxes to enable smart functionality.
The benefits of this system include:
Remote switching, timing functionality, maintaining the Corston aesthetic, saving energy and power monitoring.
You’ll need:
- Corston switches (retractive for dimming, two-way for on/off switching)
- Standard LED bulbs (not smart bulbs)
- Smart control module
- Compatible smart home hub
- App on your phone/computer
We recommend using retractive switches with dimming modules and two-way switches with on/off modules.
We believe it’s important to also keep the convenience of switching at the wall, so it’s best to buy a module that can be wired up to allow for this. If your module doesn’t fit behind the switch in the back box, it can be installed in its own back box behind a blank plate in a matching Corston finish.

Compatibility testing has been carried out with modules from the following manufacturers:
- Figaro
- Shelly
- Zapotec
- Moe
*Further research should be carried out by the customer/installer to establish the most suitable module for the project.
