Installation
- The Printer Installation Wizard (PrnInst) is a wizard application for installing Loftware printer drivers on Windows-based systems.
- PrnInst-based driver installation is available for all printers connected via a LAN network or other computer interface.
- Download your Loftware printer driver from the download page and run the self-extracting .exe file. The PrnInst application will start automatically. Follow the steps in the wizard below to install the driver.

Manual installation of the network interface
The “Detect network printer” window opens after the network interface installation starts.
- To start the manual installation of the network interface printer driver, click Manual

- Select your printer model.

- In the Select Network Interface window , you can choose which network interface your printer should connect to.
- Selecting the “Create a new network interface” option opens the “Add network interface” window .

- Interface name : Specifies the name for the newly created network interface.
- Selecting the “Create a new network interface” option opens the “Add network interface” window .
Important
- Add the prefix “LAN_” before the interface name to indicate to the printer driver that it is a bidirectional interface. Without the “LAN_” prefix, bidirectional communication is stopped and printer status checking is disabled.

- Printer name or IP address : Determines which printer connects to the newly created network interface.
- Port number : Number of the newly created network interface. PrnInst suggests the number automatically.
- Use an existing interface : Selects an automatically detected network interface for connecting the printer.

- Enable the Show all interfaces option to list all available interfaces (including those not on the network).
- Click Next to proceed to the Printer Options step .

Connect your USB printer and turn it on when the installation wizard prompts you to do so.
When installing a USB printer, PrnInst automatically detects the connected printer via the plug-and-play function.
- PrnInst guides you to the final step of the printer driver installation process. The printer options window opens.
- If the printer driver for the connected printer is already installed, PrnInst will offer to update the driver. Click Next to proceed with the printer driver update .
- If your driver does not recognize your printer’s Plug and Play ID, the Select Printer window will open.

Steps for installing the Bluetooth connection
After selecting the option to connect the printer via Bluetooth, follow these steps.

Once PrnInst has detected your Bluetooth printer, click “Next”. - Pair the Bluetooth printer with your computer. To complete the pairing, the PIN code in the installation window must match the PIN code printed by your printer.
- If the PIN codes match, click “Yes”. The installation will continue.
- If the PIN codes don’t match, click “No”. The installation will restart. Once the PIN codes match, click “Yes” to continue.
- Select the printer you want to install. Click “Next” to proceed to the printer options step

Steps for installing other interfaces
Selecting a different interface allows you to connect your printer to a parallel (LPT), serial (COM), or other interface not listed in the initial port selection step. After selecting Other , follow the steps below.
- Select your printer model

- Specify the interface to which your printer should be connected. You can select an existing interface or add a new one.
- Clicking “Add interface…” opens the Advanced TCP/IP Interface Configuration window . Configure this interface and use it for your network printers.
- Configure: Change the settings for the existing interface.
- Click “Next” to continue to the printer options step .
Printer options
- In the Printer Options window , you can set or change the identity parameters for the printer.

- Printer name . You can change the default printer name set during driver installation. You can specify a custom printer name to help you identify the printer more quickly after installation.
- Select language . Choose your preferred language during installation.
note
- The actual user interface (UI) language of the driver on your computer may differ from the language you selected during installation. The UI language depends on your computer’s language settings .
Location : Adds information about the physical location of the printer. This helps you locate your printer if multiple printers are installed on your computer. Entering the location is a personal preference and does not affect the driver’s functionality. The location data can also be added or changed after driver installation under Printer Properties > General .
Comment : To add additional information or comments about your printer. Use this option to identify your printer if you have multiple printers installed on your computer. Entering a comment is a personal note and does not affect the driver’s functionality. Comments can also be added or changed after driver installation under Printer Properties > General .
Enable “I want to use this printer as the default Windows printer” to set the current printer as the default system printer.

- You can change your default printer later under Printers and Scanners in your system.
- Click “Install” to start the printer driver installation .
Installation process
- Once you click Install , the window for installing the printer driver will appear.

- The overview window opens after successful installation.

- To familiarize yourself with the specifics of installing your printer, select the ” Open printer installation guidelines” option after closing the wizard . After successful installation, the Help window will open. This window describes all the necessary steps for successful printing with the newly installed printer.\
- Click Open printing settings to adjust your printer’s default settings. You can also configure your printer later. To do this, open Windows settings under Printers & scanners .
- Click Install another printer if you want to install additional printers from the same manufacturer.
