 Quick Setup Guide

(iPhone & Android)

1. Before You Go – Download Your eSIM

Option A: Download from the Sim Local App (All Devices)

1. Sign in to the Sim Local app using the same email you used to purchase your plan.
2. Go to My eSIM → select your plan.
3. Tap Install Plan → Download Plan.
4. Keep your screen open until the download finishes.

Option B: Download Using a QR Code (iPhone & Android)

1. Open your QR code from the Sim Local app or confirmation email.
2. On your device:
   • iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service (Cellular) → Add eSIM → Use QR Code
   • Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code
   • Other Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → Use a QR code
3. Scan the QR code or choose it from your photo library if needed.
4. Keep the screen open while it downloads.

Option C: Manual Activation Code Entry (iPhone & Android)

1. Locate your SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code (in app or confirmation email).
2. On your device:
   1. iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually
   2. Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Enter activation code
   3.  Other Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → Enter detailsmanually
3. Enter the codes and wait for installation to complete.
4. When You Arrive – Change Your Settings

A. Set Mobile Data to Your eSIM

iPhone:

1. Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data → select your new eSIM
2. Turn Allow Data Switching = OFF

• Android (all brands):

1. Go to your SIM manager settings → Mobile Data → select your new eSIM
2. Turn Data Switching/Automatic Data Switching = OFF

B. Turn ON Data Roaming

iPhone:

1. Settings → Mobile Service → select your eSIM → Data Roaming ON

Android:

1. Option 1: Settings → … → Mobile Networks → Data Roaming ON
2. Option 2: Open your eSIM plan → Data Roaming ON

C. Rename Your eSIM (Recommended)

1. Rename it something like “Travel eSIM.”
   • iPhone: Mobile Service → select plan → Mobile Plan Label
   • Android: SIM manager/SIMs → select plan → Edit / Rename
2. If Your Plan Includes Calls & Texts
3. If your Sim Local plan supports voice/text:

iPhone:

1. Settings → Mobile Service → Default Voice Line → select your travel eSIM

Android:

1. SIM manager settings → under Preferred SIMs → set your travel eSIM for Calls and Texts

Important Reminders

1. Your eSIM may not connect until you reach your destination.

When You Return

1. When your trip is over, delete only the “Travel eSIM” —
2. NOT your Cellcom (primary) eSIM.

Double-check by verifying:

1. The plan name
2. The phone number (your primary number stays on your Cellcom eSIM)
3. The plan type (travel eSIMs are often data-only)
