CELESTRON MAC OS Open Source Software Installation Guide

OPENING SOFTWARE

1. Select the Apple logo in the upper right corner.
2. Select System Preferences.
   
3. Once the new window appears, select Security and Privacy.
4. Click on the lock icon in the bottom left corner of the window.
   
5. Type in your password.
6. Select the option, “App Store and identified developers.”
7. Once selected, click on the lock again to save your changes.

INSTALLING LYNKEOS SOFTWARE

1. Click on the link for Lynkeos from the Celestron website. The software will start to download in approximately five seconds.
   
2. When the download is complete, the software should be accessible in your Downloads folder.
   
3. Open the Downloads folder and double-click on the .zip file. Your Mac will automatically extract the file into the Downloads folder.
4. Open that new folder and right-click on the Lynkeos Icon.
5. Select Open to attempt to launch the application.
   
6. When you first attempt to launch the application, this message will appear on your screen.
7. Select OK and the message will go away.
   
8. Right-click on the Lynkeos software and select open once more.
   
9. A new message with different options will appear.
10. Select Open. The application will now launch.
    
11. If the installation has been done correctly, you will see the software appear.
    
12. Next, move the application icon to your Applications folder.

INSTALLATION OF oaCAPTURE SOFTWARE

1. Click on the link for oaCapture from the Celestron website. You will be directed to the oaCapture download page.
   
2. Select the oaCapture .dmg link.
3. When the download is complete, the software should be accessible in your Downloads folder.
   
4. Open your Downloads folder. You will see the oaCapture .dmg file.
5. Right-click and select Open.
6. This will launch the oaCapture application.
   
7. When the .dmg file is open, a window will appear with the OaCapture icon.
8. Right-click on the oaCapture icon and select Open.
9. This will attempt to launch the oaCapture software.
   
10. If the installation has been done correctly, you will see this error message appear.
11. When you see this error message, select Cancel.
12. Once you select Cancel, the message will no longer be there. You will see the window that contains the oaCapture icon.
    
13. Once again, right-click the OaCapture icon and select Open.
14. When you select Open, your Mac will attempt to open oaCapture.
    
15. Once you select Open, this error message will appear.
16. Select Open again. The application will launch with no issues.
    
17. If the installation has been done correctly, you will see the software appear.
    
18. Move the application icon to your Applications folder.
