Vial support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
What operating systems does Vial support?
Vial runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. On Linux, make the downloaded AppImage executable before launching it.
-
How do I remap a key in Vial?
Select the key in the top palette, then choose its replacement key or macro in the bottom palette. The new key assignment is automatically saved to the keyboard.
-
Can I increase the number of layers or macros in the application?
Layer and macro limits are set by the keyboard firmware. Changing these limits requires firmware changes at compile time, not just adjustments in the graphical application.
-
Where should I look for Vial setup instructions?
Use the guides in this category and the official Vial website at https://get.vial.today/. Also check your keyboard manufacturer's documentation for compatibility and device-specific setup.
-
How do I save macros, Tap Dance settings and combos?
Configure the entries in their respective tabs and click Save. Macros and Tap Dance actions must then be assigned to keys; combos do not require a separate key assignment.
