Velodyne support FAQ

Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.

  • How do I calibrate my Velodyne subwoofer?

Many Velodyne subwoofers, like the SPL-X, include an external calibrated microphone. You can initiate the Auto EQ process right from the subwoofer panel or by using the Velodyne Acoustics AutoEQ SUB App.

  • What is the optimal placement for my Velodyne subwoofer?

While low frequencies are omnidirectional, room placement heavily influences output. Generally, near a corner or beside the main speakers works best. It's recommended to experiment within your listening space and use the Auto EQ function for best results.

  • Does my subwoofer feature an auto turn-on mode?

Yes, most Velodyne models feature an Auto Power Switch. In the Auto position, the subwoofer powers on when an audio signal is detected and automatically switches to standby mode when there is no signal for 8 to 15 minutes.

  • Should I use the LFE input or the speaker-level inputs?

If your receiver has a dedicated Subwoofer or LFE output, use the RCA LFE input. If your amplifier only has traditional speaker outputs, you can connect the full-range speaker wires directly to the subwoofer’s High-Level (Speaker-Level) inputs.
