Sonic Driver support FAQ

Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.

  • How do I choose the correct transducer mounting method for my Sonic Driver flowmeter?

Use the Transducer Mounting menu to select the sound path based on your pipe diameter. For large pipes (100mm+), 1 pass (Z) is common. For standard installations, 2 passes (V) is the most frequently used method, installed on the same side of the pipe.

  • Can the Sonic Driver UFM measure heat quantity?

Yes, models like the WALL-UFM and PLUS-UFM can calculate heat quantity flow rates. To utilize this feature, optional plug-in PT100 modules must be fitted to measure the inlet and outlet temperatures of the liquid.

  • What is the correct way to mount the flow transducers?

Use the supplied chain clamps to mount the transducers axially along the pipe, ensuring the label arrows point in the direction of the flow. You must always use coupling gel between the transducer face and the pipe to ensure proper ultrasonic contact.

  • How can I resolve communication errors with the POCKET MOBILE-UFM app?

To fix communication issues, always ensure you properly exit the app using the Exit screen to prevent multiple app instances from tying up the mobile device's communication port. Additionally, always connect the UFM while your device's screen is unlocked.
