Promatic support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How do I safely disarm my Promatic clay target launcher?
To safely disarm the trap, momentarily flick the ARM/DISARM switch towards DISARM and immediately release it. This allows the trap to fire without rearming. Once the arm is visible towards the front or side, turn off the switch and disconnect the battery. Always perform this from the rear of the machine.
-
What kind of battery is required for a Promatic trap?
Promatic traps are designed to be powered from a 12v DC battery. It is recommended to use an 85Ah to 105Ah leisure battery, depending on the trap model. Never connect the trap directly to mains AC power.
-
Why is my Promatic trap failing to re-arm and making a humming noise?
This is typically caused by a depleted battery where the voltage has fallen too low to operate the trap motor. Disconnect the battery immediately and recharge or replace it. Continued operation at low voltage can damage internal electrical components.
-
How do I adjust the spring tension on a Promatic target launcher?
First, place the machine in transit mode and nudge it forward until the throwing arm projects forward, then disconnect the battery. Loosen the spring adjustment nut, reposition the lock nut, and retighten. Ensure you leave at least 30mm of thread length between the inside nut and the spring coil to prevent damage.
