Hobie support FAQ

Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.

  • Where can I register my Hobie product?

You can register your Hobie product online at https://www.hobie.com/product-registration to ensure you receive important product information and warranty support.

  • How do I properly store my Hobie kayak?

Store your boat upside down on crossbars or hang it from wide strapping. Avoid storing it cockpit side up on crossbars, on its side for a long period, or hanging it by the scuppers or handles to prevent hull damage.

  • How can I tighten my MirageDrive fins if they feel loose?

If the fins do not stay locked into position, you will need to adjust the kick-up set screw located in the housing at the base of the fin. Tighten the screw 1/4 turn at a time until it just touches the fin.

  • What is the recommended way to transport my kayak on a vehicle?

Use proper cradles that support the hull and transport the boat right side up. Lay straps across the boat and tie to rack bars, avoiding ratchet straps. Also, ensure you run a tie-down line from the bow and stern to each vehicle bumper.
