HIPPO support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
What can be put into a HIPPOBAG?
HIPPOBAGs can take typical household waste, garden waste, and DIY waste. However, you must not include hazardous items such as asbestos, batteries, liquids, fluorescent tubes, or food waste. Plasterboard usually requires segregation.
-
Where should I place my HIPPOBAG for collection?
The bag must be placed within 4 meters (approx. 13 feet) of a public highway (road) so the collection vehicle's crane can reach it. It should be on private property unless you have obtained a skip permit.
-
How do I book a collection?
You can book a collection online at hippowaste.co.uk or by calling their customer service team. Some bags are sold with collection included, while others require a separate collection fee.
-
Does the HIPPOBAG expire?
No, you can keep the bag for as long as you need before filling it and booking the collection.
-
Will the collection truck damage my driveway?
HIPPO collection vehicles are large (similar to dustbin lorries) but generally stay on the public road and use a crane to lift the bag, minimizing the risk to driveways compared to skip lorries.
