Heat-Line support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
Can I cut Heat-Line heating cables to shorten them?
Cutting factory-terminated heating cables is generally not recommended as it may alter the electrical circuit and void the warranty. For internally installed systems like the Retro-Line, use the approved extraction method by sliding the heating cable through the rubber entry seal grommet to adjust the internal length.
-
Are Heat-Line freeze protection systems safe for plastic pipes?
Yes, Heat-Line products utilize self-regulating, conductive polymer heating technology that automatically adjusts heat output based on surrounding temperatures. It will not overheat or melt plastic pipes.
-
Are Heat-Line trace heating cables approved for drinking water systems?
Yes, many internal Heat-Line systems, such as the Retro-Line and Rizer-Line, are NSF/ANSI 61 approved, making them completely safe for installation inside potable drinking water supplies.
-
Do Heat-Line products work if the pipe is dry?
Yes, because of their self-regulating heating capabilities, Heat-Line cables can be operated continuously even when there is no water in the pipe, without the risk of overheating or damaging your plumbing.
-
Where can I find an installation manual for my Heat-Line system?
