FMA support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How do I best store my FMA battery?
For short-term storage, charge to 40-60% capacity and store in a cool, dry place. For long-term (over 3 months), store at 40-50% charge, check and recharge every 3-6 months, and place in an area with a temperature between 10-25°C (50-77°F).
-
What should I do if my FMA battery gets hot while charging?
Disconnect it immediately and check the charger. Overheating past 45°C (113°F) is a safety hazard. Reduce the load and allow time for cooling. Never charge batteries unattended.
-
How do I dispose of a swollen or dead FMA battery?
Discharge it to 0-10% capacity, tape over the terminals to prevent shorts, place it in a non-conductive bag, and take it to an authorized battery recycling center. Do not throw it in the regular trash or incinerate it.
-
Can I use a regular charger for my FMA lithium battery?
No, you should ONLY use chargers specifically designed for lithium batteries that feature a proper voltage cutoff (4.2V for Li-ion/Li-Po, 3.65V for LiFePO4). Never use a Ni-MH or Ni-Cd charger for lithium batteries.
