Apera Instruments support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How often should I calibrate my Apera pH meter?
For high-accuracy measurements (≤ ±0.02 pH), calibrate the electrode before every test. For general use, calibrating every 1-2 weeks is typically sufficient.
-
How should I store my pH electrode?
Always store the pH electrode in the provided storage vial containing 3M KCl soaking solution. Never store the electrode in pure water (distilled, deionized, or RO water) as it will damage the sensor sensitivity.
-
What should I do if my meter readings are unstable?
Unstable readings are often caused by air bubbles in the sensor bulb or a dirty junction. Shake the electrode downward to remove bubbles, or clean the electrode with appropriate cleaning solution and soak in 3M KCl for rehydration.
-
What is the lifespan of an Apera pH electrode?
The typical service life of a pH electrode is 12–24 months, depending on frequency of use and maintenance. Electrodes are consumables and should be replaced when they can no longer be calibrated successfully.
