SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

DANGER
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN AN EXPLOSION OR FIRE THAT MAY CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE, SERIOUS INJURY, OR DEATH. THIS PROPANE GAS LEVEL INDICATOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A CHECK VALVE MECHANISM THAT PREVENTS PROPANE FROM FLOWING WHEN DISCONNECTED FROM YOUR GAS APPLIANCE. DO NOT INSERT FOREIGN OBJECTS INTO THE ADAPTER TO PUSH OPEN THE CHECK MECHANISM; YOU COULD BE SPRAYED WITH PROPANE AND/OR CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY FIRE, OR EXPLOSION.

WARNINGS
For use only on propane appliances with Type 1 connection equipped with the following propane tanks: 4.25 lb, 5 lb, 10 lb, 11 lb, 20 lb or 30 lb.

NOT FOR USE WITH 50 LB, 60 LB OR 100 LB PROPANE TANKS.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Perform a leak test each time the tank is connected and before lighting your grill. Do not move your grill, disconnect your propane tank, or install a new gas level indicator unless the grill is cool.

All propane tanks must be stored outdoors. Ensure that there are no smoking, open flames, electric motor, or other sources of ignition nearby when installing, connecting, disconnecting, or testing for gas leaks.

This propane level indicator is to be installed by a competent adult.

INSTALLATION
  1. Ensure that the burners and propane tank are turned off and grill is cool.
  2. If a ached, disconnect the regulator from the tank.
  3. Connect the propane level indicator to the tank valve by tightening the plastic fitting by hand do not use tools. Ensure that the propane level indicator dial is either vertical or at a viewable angle.
  4. Connect the regulator to the propane level indicator and hand tighten.
USE

1. Ensuring that the burners are turned off, slowly turn the propane tank on, your propane level indicator should now show your propane level. If the gas level is not indicated, the tank is either empty or the device is connected improperly; reinstall the device.

2. To leak test your system with the propane level indicator installed; ensure that all burners are turned off and slowly turn the tank on. Take note of the propane level indicated and turn the tank off, if the level begins to fall towards empty after the tank has completely been turned off then there is a leak somewhere in your gas appliance.

NEVER USE A PROPANE APPLIANCE BEFORE YOU HAVE PERFORMED A LEAK TEST.

3. To find the leak, apply soapy water to all the connections of your gas appliance. Continuous tiny bubbles or expanding bubbles in one area can indicate a leak. Be sure to tighten that connection and try the test once again. If the bubbles persist, DO NOT USE YOUR GAS APPLIANCE! Contact a qualified technician to repair the leak and ensure that your appliance is once again safe to use.

NOTE: WHEN YOUR GAS APPLIANCE IS NOT IN USE, BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE GAS AT THE SOURCE.

READING

The propane level indicator gauge indicates the approximate gas level in the tank. If the needle is in the green zone, you have adequate fuel left in your tank. When the needle is in the yellow zone, you should consider refueling your tank. If the needle is in the red zone, the tank should be refilled as you will soon be or may already have run out of propane.

  1. ADEQUATE FUEL
  2. EARLY WARNING
  3. GO FOR REFILL

NOTES: It’s always best to check your gas level after you have finished cooking so that you can refuel before your next barbecuing session. Disconnect your propane level indicator from the tank before taking the tank for refueling.

DISPLAY: The propane level indicator gauge works on tank pressure. In cold weather, the propane is under less pressure from vaporized propane and therefore the tank will read slightly lower than actual.

SAFETY: This propane level indicator is equipped with a safety device. If the regulator fi ing detaches itself from the propane level indicator, a mechanism will stop the flow of gas from the tank.

USEFUL TIPS
  1. Before using your grill, make sure that all gas control knobs are turned off on the appliance and always turn on gas supply valve very slowly to avoid excess flow of gas.
  2. Lean the indicator at a slight angle to prevent rainwater from entering the device.
  3. If condensation forms under the gauge dial, take the indicator off and place indoors until condensation dries out, then connect it back on the system.
