XM tuner module (U2K) with or without subscription
Introduction
Your 1st generation Cadillac CTS or SRX still drives great but lack ability to stream music and other application. Our new and improved BTA-CTS (formerly A2DCTS) music streaming module allows these vehicles owners to stream music applications from Smartphone, Tablet, Kindle etc. through the factory radios XM port. For the BTA-CTS module to work, the compatible vehicle must have an XM tuner module (expired or active subscription). Alert: If XM subscription has expired and will not be re-activated; select “Expired”- (An AUX input jack is provided to which users may connect and play portable audio devices such as MP3, Satellite radio kits, iPods etc.) If XM subscription has expired and will be re-activated in the future; select “Subscribed” otherwise XM will not play upon activation. If XM subscription is active, select “Subscribed” and the service remains uninterrupted. A wireless connection means no wires, clutter or complicated setup. See Frequently Asked question at the end of this guide for details.

Optional USB extension cable installation

Frequent ask questions & troubleshooting
1. Will the BTA-CTS work in vehicles with Navigation? YES; Works with CTS Navigation radios. NOT for SRX Navigation radios
2. My XM subscription has expired; will the BTA-CTS work? YES; as long as XM tuner remains in vehicle. Note: If XM has expired but plan to renew at a future date; select “Subscribed” otherwise XM will not play upon activation.
3. My XM subscription is active; will the BTA-CTS work? YES; XM subscription remains active. (Select “Subscribed” from dropdown)
4. How do I insert or change battery in the remote-control? Insert CR2025 battery to holder with label side up or as seen in Fig. 19
Fig. 18
9. To increase/decrease volume, tap (don’t hold) +/- buttons 10. If correct operation is confirmed go ahead and reinstall radio.
Alert: If XM subscription has expired but plan to renew at a future date; purchase “Subscribed” otherwise XM will not play upon activation.
Fig. 19
5. I don’t know if my vehicle has the required XM tuner module. How can I find out without ripping the car apart? Turn radio “ON”, press “BAND” or “XM” button repeatedly to cycle through AM/FM/XM1/XM2. If only AM/FM is displayed, your vehicle does not have the required XM module and sadly, the BTA-CTS will not work.
6. Do I need to check wiring on 8-pin gray plug prior to ordering for my 2004-05 CTS? YES, we highly recommend it. Sometime between 2004-05 Cadillac changed wiring on the 8-pin (gray) plug but did not publish VIN number range. For more specifics. go to question #9
7. Can I use the BTA-CTS for hands-free calls? NO; The BTA-CTS supports streaming only via Bluetooth. For hands-free calls purchase our BTH-CTS
8. How do I know if vehicle has a BOSE system? Bose system includes a speaker in the center of the dash and a purple wire on pin 2 on gray 8-pin plug (see Fig. 20)
9. Sometime after 2004; Cadillac made a slight change to the XM tuner wiring in the CTS radio. This change affects late 2004 production dates. If you own a 2004-05 CTS, we highly recommend checking the radio gray plug (Fig. 19/20) to determine how we should properly wire your module otherwise playback will be limited to one side (mono). Here is how to check: Remove radio (Go to page 2 for help), locate gray plug. The TAN/WHITE wire location determines which year must be selected when checking out (shopping cart): PIN 4 = TAN/WHITE (See Fig. 19) you must select 2003-04 PIN 3= TAN/WHITE (See Fig. 20) you must select 2005-07
Fig. 19
Fig. 20 Applicable to CTS: Failure to select year-based on TAN/WHITE wire location will result in audio playback limited to one side
