Product Usage Instructions

Getting Started

To maximize the life of your battery pack, charge it fully
before use. Connect the supplied vehicle or wall charger and follow
the instructions for Vehicle Charging or Mains Charging.

Mains Charging

1. Use only the supplied C.Scope chargers with your battery
packs.

2. Charge time: 5.5 hours to fully charge from empty using wall
chargers.

3. Run time: Up to 10 hours depending on use in Locators, Signal
Generators, and Transmitters; up to 80 hours in CS880.

4. Charger status: Red light while charging, Green when fully
charged.

Vehicle Charging

1. Use only the supplied C.Scope chargers with your battery
packs.

2. Charge time: 5.5 hours to fully charge from empty using
vehicle chargers.

3. Run time: Up to 10 hours depending on use.

4. Charger status: Flashing red light while charging, Continuous
red light when fully charged.

Fitting in a Locator

1. Remove any existing batteries from the battery
compartment.

2. Insert the battery pack in place of the alkaline
batteries.

Fitting in a Transmitter or Signal Generator

1. Follow the same steps as fitting in a Locator.

Fitting in a CS880

1. Follow the same steps as fitting in a Locator.

Handling, Storage, Transport and Disposal

Handle the battery packs with care during storage and transport.

Introduction
Thank you for choosing C.Scope. We built the C.Scope Battery Packs for use with the XL4 range of C.Scope Locators, associated Transmitters and Signal Generators and for the CS880 Metal Cover Locator. The battery packs can be charged from the mains or in vehicles. The packs are lightweight, deliver long run times and can be charged quickly. The battery packs can be charged without removing them from your Locator, CS880, Transmitter or Signal Generator.

Getting Started
Charging You can use your battery pack right away. To maximise the life of your battery pack you should charge it fully before you use it. Connect either the supplied vehicle or wall charger and follow the instructions in Vehicle Charging or Mains Charging.
Fitting The battery pack fits in the battery compartment of your Locator, CS880, Transmitter or Signal Generator, in place of your alkaline batteries. Remove any existing batteries and insert the battery pack. For full instructions see Fitting in a Locator, Fitting in a Transmitter or Signal Generator, or Fitting in a CS880.

Mains Charging
Please use only the supplied C.Scope chargers with your battery packs. Take care to use the appropriate charger for each battery pack. You can charge your battery pack fitted in your Locator, Signal Generator or Transmitter or separately. Disconnect the charger when charging is complete.
Charge Time Using the wall chargers, the battery packs will take 5.5 hours to charge fully, from empty.
Run Time Battery packs will run for up to 10 hours in Locators, Signal Generators and Transmitters, depending on use. Battery packs will run for up to 80 hours in a CS880.
Charger Status The wall chargers will show a red light while the pack is charging and green when it is fully charged.

Vehicle Charging

Please use only the supplied C.Scope chargers with your battery packs. Take care to use the appropriate charger for each battery pack. You can charge your battery pack fitted in your Locator, CS880, Signal Generator or Transmitter or separately. Disconnect the charger when charging is complete.
Before using the vehicle charger please check that the power point in your vehicle is capable of supplying 2 Amps.
Charge Time Using the vehicle charger, the battery packs will take 5.5 hours to charge fully, from empty.
Run Time Battery packs will run for up to 10 hours, depending on use.
Charger Status The vehicle chargers will show a flashing red light while the pack is charging and continuous red light when it is fully charged.

Fitting in a Locator
The Locator battery pack fits into your Locator battery compartment.
1. Open the battery compartment on your Locator. 2. Insert the battery pack in the top section of the battery compartment
with the C.Scope logo facing you. 3. Close the battery compartment door and make sure the two latches
snap shut.
Fitting in a Transmitter or Signal Generator
The battery pack fits into your Transmitter or Signal Generator battery compartment.
1. Remove the accessories tray from the base of your Transmitter or Signal Generator by releasing the clips on either side of the unit.
2. Remove the existing battery compartment cover and any batteries in the unit. 3. You may want to permanently detach the battery cover from the unit using a
screw driver. If you do detach the old cover take care to put the screw back in the base of the unit and to keep the old cover secure in the accessories tray so you can use alkaline batteries if you need to. 4. Insert the battery pack into the base of the unit and secure it using the thumb screws on the battery pack. 5. Place the unit back on top of the accessories tray and snap the clips on either side of the unit closed.

Fitting in a CS880
The metal detector battery pack fits into your CS880 battery compartment.
1. Unscrew the thumb screws on your battery cover and remove any existing batteries. Keep the existing cover and battery holder somewhere safe.
2. Insert the battery pack into the battery compartment and secure it with the thumb screws. If you find the thumb screws are a little tight check the alignment of the battery pack in the compartment.

Handling, Storage and Disposal

Handling
Avoid disassembling, crushing, or puncturing the battery. Do not short the external contacts, expose it to temperatures above 60°C, or subject it to excessive shock or vibration. Keep it away from children and do not use a damaged battery. If a battery pack leaks, do not touch the fluids and dispose of it, as described below.
Storage
To prevent fires, store the battery packs in the supplied packaging when not in use. You should consider using a lithium-ion battery storage cabinet, which may offer fire protection.
Transport
C.Scope Battery Packs are subject to legislation on the transport of dangerous goods. When a battery pack is transported, special requirements on packaging and labelling apply. Do not ship damaged battery packs.
Disposal
C.Scope Battery Packs should be recycled at permitted facilities and not thrown away in household trash or recycling bins. They contain chemicals that can catch fire and explode, and high-capacity batteries can also deliver an electric shock. You can take lithium-ion batteries to a local recycling centre or hazardous waste collection point. You can check with your local authority or vendor to see if they offer recycling services.
