THE BMW REMOTE ENGINE START

With BMW Remote Engine Start feature, you con precondition the interior of your BMW too comfortable temperature before starting your ultimate drive. With BMW’s remote services the ability to pion and start the climotizotion is mode seamless. Choose between starting the climotizotion immediately or select o determined time using the BMW App or the vehicle system.

PURCHASING BMW REMOTE ENGINE START

If your BMW is not factory-equipped with Remote Engine Start, you may be able to purchase it from the ConnectedDrive Store. Please visit mygaroge.bmwuso.com to see whether it is available foryour BMW.
Add the feature to your “shopping cart”, enter or confirm payment method and purchase. Once the vehicle receives the feature via on activation message on the vehicle display, confirm download.
Before beginning your next drive, you will receive confirmation of o successful installation.

LOG IN WITH MY BMW APP
Within your My BMW App, eligible vehicles with on active Remote Engine Start offer con precondition their vehicle too comfortable temperature from their smartphone.
Pion climotizotion control by topping on the icon and accept the disclaimer. The opp will indicate that this was o success by o pop-up message.
Additionally, in the “Remote Services” section of the opp, you con select o departure time and allow for automation of the climotizotion function.

ACTIVATING REMOTE ENGINE START
Before Remote Engine Start con be used for your vehicle, activation is required. Once activated, Remote Engine Start con be used via the My BMW App or via the key fob (i.e., 3 presses of the lock button).

ACTIVATION IN OPERATING SYSTEM 9

1. In your vehicle, select “Climate Control” in the all opps menu.
2. In the “Climate control” menu, click on the “setting” icon. Then “Pre-conditioning’\ and select “Remote Engine Start”.
3.  Ensure the checkbox is checked, in order to enable the Remote Engine Start feature.
4. To set up o one-time or recurring time for Remote Engine Start, navigate to “Pre-conditioning’\ select “Departure pion’\ and configure your custom settings.

ACTIVATION IN OPERATING SYSTEM 8 AND 8.5 

1. In your vehicle, select “Climate Control” in the All opps menu.
2.  In the “Climate control” menu, click “Pre-conditioning”, and select “Remote Engine Start”.
3. Ensure the checkbox is checked, in order to enable the Remote Engine Start feature.
4. To set up o one-time or recurring time for Remote Engine Start, navigate to “Pre-conditioning”, select “Departure pion”, and configure your custom settings.

ACTIVATION IN IDRIVE 7 

1. In your vehicle, select “CAR”, go to “Settings”, and then select “Climate control”.
2.  In the “Climate control menu”, click “Preconditioning/ventilation”, and select “Remote Engine Start”.
3. Click “Starting engine for climate control”.
4.  Please read the legal disclaimer and then provide your confirmation by selecting “OK”.
5.  Ensure the checkbox is checked in order to enable the Remote Engine Start feature.
6. To set up a one-time or recurring time for Remote Engine Start, navigate to
   “Preconditioning/ventilation”, select “Departure schedule”, and then go to “Departure time” to configure your custom settings.

PURCHASING IN OPERATING SYSTEM 8, 8.5 AND 9
Remote Engine Start con be purchased for eligible vehicles via My BMW Garage or in the Connected Drive Store in your BMW and downloaded to the vehicle. Your vehicle must have been previously added to a BMW ID in order to be able to purchase.

HOW TO PURCHASE IN MY BMW GARAGE

1. Log in to MY BMW Garage using your BMW ID.
2. Select “View vehicle profile” > “Shop BMW CONNECTEDDRIVE” > “Remote Engine Start”.
3. Confirm by selecting “Add to cart”.
4. Accept the Terms and enter Payment Information.
   Once completed, select “Purchase Now”.

How To Purchase via In-Vehicle Store
To complete an in-car purchase, a valid payment method must be set up and enabled in My BMW Garage. For more information refer to the FAQs at the end of this document.

1. Log into BMW vehicle using BMW ID. Select MENU > CONNECTEDDRIVE STORE. Then select ALL CATEGORIES and confirm by selecting the BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades tile .
2.  This menu details available services and those to which you ore currently subscribed. Select the Remote Engine Start tile to begin the purchase or subscription process.
3.  Confirm purchase term and follow the prompts to complete the purchase.

PURCHASING IN IDRIVE 7
Remote Engine Start con be purchased for eligible vehicles via My BMW Garage and downloaded to the vehicle. Your vehicle must have been previously added to a BMW ID in order to be able to purchase.
In-car purchase is not available for 107 or earlier vehicle models.

HOW TO PURCHASE IN MY BMW GARAGE

1. Log in to MY BMW Garage using your BMW ID.
2.  Select “View vehicle profile” > “Shop BMW CONNECTEDDRIVE” > “Remote Engine Start”.
3. Confirm by selecting “Add to cart”.
4. Accept the Terms and enter Payment Information. Once completed, select “Purchase Now”.
5. Once the download is available, you will receive an activation message on the vehicle display, with options to activate the feature.
6. Follow the step-by-step instructions on your vehicle display.
7. After confirming activation, your BMW will need approximately five minutes for installation.
   During this time, your BMW must be parked.
8.  Before your next drive, you will receive confirmation of a successful installation.
