Introduction

  • BlueUp Brick Wire (henceforth identified as “product”, “device”, or “beacon”) is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon optimized for proximity, identification, and localization applications.
  • BlueUp Brick is available with multiple firmware options, including standard BLE beacon technologies (with support for iBeacon™ and Eddystone™) and Wirepas Mesh technology (configured as an anchor node).
  • Housed in an IP67-rated plastic enclosure, the device integrates an accelerometer for motion detection.
  • Power supply is provided via an internal 2-port connector accessible through an integrated cable-gland, supporting a voltage range of 3 to 30 Vdc.

Warning: Before using BlueUp Brick Wire, verify that it is undamaged and carefully read the instructions in this user manual, paying specific attention to the “Safety” section.

BlueUp S.r.l. disclaims all liability if the devices are operated in environments or modes incompatible with keeping the product intact, safe, and functional.

Procedures

Beacon Power Supply
Before using the beacon, connect power to the device via the internal terminal connector. The supply VDC voltage must be continuous, between 3 Vdc and 30 Vdc. Pass the cable through the cable-gland on the lower wall of the enclosure, then connect the cable to the internal 2-port connector.Important: Do not reverse the polarity of the power supply. Reversing the polarity can cause irreversible damage to the device.
Securely close the Brick enclosure using the four provided screws.

Beacon Installation
Position and install the beacon onto your targeted mounting surface. For secure mounting, we recommend using silicone glue, industrial double-sided tape, or utilizing the two integrated screw-holes on the lateral flanges (ver. WF).

Beacon Use
  • Once powered, the beacon immediately becomes active and operates according to its preloaded technology profile.
  • For detailed technical specifications, please consult the BlueUp Docs portal at docs.blueupbeacons.com or contact technical support at support@blueupbeacons.com.

BLE Standard Configuration
To customize or modify the device configuration, download and use the free BlueBeacon Manager mobile application, available for iOS and Android.

Wirepas Configuration
When targeted as an anchor, the device can be configured and managed utilizing the Wirepas Network Tool, Gateway API, or MeshCube platforms.
