    Question

How do I connect the BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard to a PC?

    Answer

Based on the BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard (BF-420) manual, the USB connection to a computer is primarily intended as a power source rather than a MIDI or data interface. Here is how to connect it:

    • Connection Method: Use the included USB cable to connect the DC 5V Micro-USB port on the keyboard to a USB port on your computer.
    • Power Requirements: The computer USB port must have a voltage output of DC 5V and a current of 1000mA or above. Using a port with different specifications may cause a malfunction.
    • Functionality Note: The manual does not mention MIDI-over-USB or data transfer capabilities. If you are trying to use the keyboard as a MIDI controller for music software, this specific model may not support that feature, as the manual only describes the computer as a "Choice of Power Supply."

If the keyboard is not turning on when connected, ensure the USB cable is tightly plugged in at both ends and that your computer's USB port is active.

Note: Pour nos utilisateurs francophones, le manuel indique que la connexion USB au PC sert principalement d'alimentation électrique (5V, 1000mA). Il n'est pas précisé si ce modèle supporte le transfert de données MIDI.

    Question

How do I use the recording function on the BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard, and what does the AF display mean?

    Answer

Based on the BIGFUN BF-420 manual, here is how to operate the recording and playback functions:

    • Recording: Press the REC button. You can then record the music you play on the keys.
    • Playback: Press the PLAY button to listen to the music you just recorded.
    • Programming Percussion: If you are using the PROG button (Program mode), you must record exactly 16 percussion hits for the recording to become active. If you press more or fewer than 16, the recording will not play back.

Regarding the "AF" display: The provided manual does not explicitly define an "AF" code. However, in many electronic keyboards, "AF" can appear during the recording process or may indicate a specific mode. If the sound is distorted while this is displayed, ensure you are using a high-quality DC 5V / 1000mA power adapter, as the manual warns that inferior cables and adapters can cause noise and malfunctions. Additionally, ensure the keyboard is not near a TV or radio, as this can cause audio interference.

If your recording still does not play back after following these steps, try pressing the STOP button before pressing PLAY to ensure the recording session has ended.

  3. My keyboard is not good problem is f, f#, g, g#, a, a#, b, b#, c, c#,d, d#, e, e#, a, a#, f, f#e, e# keys are not working pleace service my key board

    Adithyan asks My keyboard is not good problem is f, f#, g, g#, a, a#, b, b#, c, c#,d, d#, e, e#, a, a#, f, f#e, e# keys are not working pleace service my key board
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Why are specific keys (F, G, A, B, C, D, E and their sharps) not working on my BIGFUN electronic keyboard, and how can I get it serviced?

    Answer

Based on the BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard Instruction Manual, there are a few troubleshooting steps and warnings regarding non-functional keys:

    • Power Supply Malfunction: Ensure you are using a DC 5V adaptor with at least 1000mA. The manual warns that using an incorrect voltage adaptor or an inferior USB cable can cause malfunctions.
    • Sleep Mode: If the keyboard has not been played for more than 3 minutes, it enters sleep mode. Press any white or black key to wake it up.
    • Internal Damage: If specific keys are consistently not working, it may indicate internal damage. The manual explicitly states in the 'Operation notice' (Section 5) that you should not tear down the inner parts or attempt to remake the product, as it does not contain user-serviceable parts.

If the keyboard is still under warranty, it is recommended to contact the retailer where you purchased the device for service or replacement. If the device is behaving unusually, the manual advises that you stop using it immediately.

  4. Is there transpose on bigfun keyboard?

Bankole asks Is there transpose on bigfun keyboard?
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Does the BIGFUN electronic keyboard have a transpose function?

    Answer

Based on the instruction manual for the BIGFUN BF-420 Electronic Keyboard, there is no mention of a transpose function. The available controls and features listed are:

    • Power on/off
    • Tones (8 options)
    • Volume control
    • Drum combinations and Animal sounds
    • Demo modes (A and B)
    • Record and Play
    • Program (for percussion)
    • Tempo control
    • Rhythm (8 options)

Because this model is a basic electronic keyboard, it likely does not support transposing keys electronically.

    How do I fix it?

Yuval Milrad asks I bought a Bigfun BF-730A2 and it is not tuned properlly, the whole set up is half at tone shifted so A4- is at 415 Hz, A4# is at 440 Hz.
    How do I fix it?
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

How do I fix the tuning on my Bigfun BF-730A2 keyboard if it is shifted by a half tone?

    Answer

Based on the available documentation for BIGFUN electronic keyboards, there is no manual calibration or tuning adjustment feature provided for users. These keyboards are typically pre-set at the factory and do not include a "Transpose" or "Fine Tuning" function in their standard control sets.

If your keyboard is consistently off by a half-tone (e.g., A4 is 415 Hz instead of the standard 440 Hz), this is likely a hardware defect or a firmware error. You may try the following:

    • Power Cycle: Turn the keyboard off and unplug it from the power source (USB or DC adaptor) for at least 30 seconds to reset the internal processor.
    • Check Power Supply: Ensure you are using a stable DC 5V power adaptor with at least 1000mA. Low or unstable voltage can sometimes cause electronic malfunctions in these devices.
    • Warranty/Replacement: Since the manual explicitly states in the "Operation notice" not to tear down inner parts as there are no user-serviceable components, you should contact the seller for a replacement or refund if the unit is under warranty.

Please note that the provided manual is for the BF-420 model; while functions are generally similar across the BIGFUN line, if your BF-730A2 has a specific "Transpose" button not mentioned here, ensure it is set to "0".

  6. Besides USB charger and cable, which type of 3 (rechargeable?, normal batteries do not work) AA batteries (in the cabinet provided) as power supply for BF-430A1? Pls. reply

Timothy Coelho asks Besides USB charger and cable, which type of 3 (rechargeable?, normal batteries do not work) AA batteries (in the cabinet provided) as power supply for BF-430A1? Pls. reply
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

What type of AA batteries are required for the BIGFUN BF-430A1 electronic keyboard?

    Answer

Based on the available manual for BIGFUN electronic keyboards (specifically model BF-420, which shares similar power specifications), the primary recommended power source is a DC 5V USB connection (via a mobile phone adapter or computer) with at least 1000mA output.

    Regarding batteries for the BF-430A1:

    • Battery Type: Most BIGFUN keyboards that utilize a battery compartment require standard 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.
    • Rechargeable vs. Normal: If "normal" (alkaline) batteries are not working, ensure they are fresh and inserted with the correct polarity (+/-). While some users attempt to use rechargeable NiMH batteries, these typically provide only 1.2V, which may be insufficient to power the keyboard's electronics compared to the 1.5V provided by standard alkaline batteries.
    • Uncertainty Note: The provided manual documentation focuses heavily on USB power and does not explicitly list battery specifications for the BF-430A1 variant. If standard 1.5V AA batteries do not work, the device may require the USB power connection to function correctly, as some models are designed primarily for USB use.
  7. My kid loves it but should the record function works with the microphone?

John Vincent asks My kid loves it but should the record function works with the microphone?
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Does the record function on the BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard record audio from the microphone?

    Answer

Based on the BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard (BF-420) instruction manual, the Record function is designed specifically to record the music you play on the keys. Section 8 of the manual states: "Press REC button and you can record the music you play."

The manual does not indicate that the microphone audio is included in this recording. On most entry-level electronic keyboards of this type, the recording function only captures the MIDI/note data from the keyboard itself and not external audio input from the microphone. To hear your recording, you would then press the PLAY button.

  8. when power is switched on, rhythm sound starts automatically. how to solve this problem

Anonymous asks when power is switched on, rhythm sound starts automatically. how to solve this problem
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

How do I stop the rhythm sound from starting automatically when I turn on the BIGFUN keyboard?

    Answer

To stop the rhythm sound on your BIGFUN Electronic Keyboard, press the STOP button (labeled as button #5 in the manual's illustration). According to the manual, the STOP button is specifically designed to end playback under RHYTHM, PLAY, and DEMO A/B/C modes.

If the rhythm continues to start automatically every time you power on the device, please ensure you are using a compatible power supply (DC 5V, 1000mA or above), as the manual notes that using incorrect voltage adaptors may cause malfunctions. If the issue persists despite using the correct power source and pressing STOP, the device may have an internal fault, and the manual advises to stop using the product if anything unusual occurs.

  9. How to use single, finger and fill-in command button in Bigfun 630A1.

Rajesh Kumar asks How to use single, finger and fill-in command button in Bigfun 630A1.
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

How do I use the single, finger, and fill-in command buttons on the Bigfun 630A1 keyboard?

    Answer

Based on the provided manual for the Bigfun BF-420, the specific "Single," "Finger," and "Fill-in" buttons are not listed as features for that model. However, these are standard accompaniment functions found on many Bigfun keyboards like the 630A1. Here is how they typically function:

    • Single (Single Finger Chord): Press this button to activate the chord accompaniment mode. In this mode, you can play a full chord by pressing just one key in the chord section (usually the leftmost keys) while a rhythm is playing.
    • Finger (Fingered Chord): This mode allows you to play chords using standard fingerings (multiple keys) in the chord section of the keyboard while the rhythm is active.
    • Fill-in: Press this button while a rhythm is playing to insert a short drum variation or "break" to add variety to the music. The rhythm will automatically return to the original pattern after the fill-in finishes.

Note: Since the attached manual is for the BF-420 model and your request is for the 630A1, there may be slight variations in operation. If these buttons do not respond, ensure a Rhythm is currently playing first, as these functions usually require an active rhythm to work.
