Information

Purpose

  • For sewing belt loops and straps.

Application

Preparing the Belt Loop Folder

  • Select a stitch. (Cover stitch No. 21 or 22)
  • Thread the machine.
  • Attach the presser foot.
  • Attach the Belt Loop Folder to the machine with the Acessories Holder.
    Refer to the instruction manual of the Accessories Holder.
  • Loosen the locking screw on the connecting piece of the Belt Loop Folder and align the belt loop guide centered to the needles and tighten the screw.
  • Loosen the locking screw on the connecting piece of the Accessories Holder, position the Belt Loop Folder as close as possible to the presser foot tip and tighten the screw.
    • The Belt Loop Folder and the presser foot are close to each other without direct contact.

Sewing Belt Loops

  • Cut the tape to the required width in length or cross grain, trimming the beginning of the tape to form a point. (Fig. 2)

  • Swing the Belt Loop Folder out.
  • Insert the tip of the tape into the tape guide until the tape comes out at the belt loop guide. (Fig. 3)

  • Swing the Belt Loop Folder into sewing position and lower the presser foot onto the tape.
  • Sew a few stitches to fix the tape in place. (Fig. 4)

  • Check the seam position and, if necessary, adjust the alignment of the Belt Loop Folder to the left or the right using the locking screw on the connecting piece.
  • If the seam edges do not meet in the middle, e.g. with very stretchy materials, cut the tape slightly wider.
  • Sew the belt loops. (Fig. 5)

Note
The Belt Loop Folder is suitable for straight-cut tapes and ribbons made of light to medium-weight fabrics.
