Please read this manual carefully prior to installing and using this product to ensure correct operation. Incorrect installation will result in void of warranty.

Product Summary

When switching between opertaions using the steering wheel button, audible beeps can be heard when choosing a different mode. For example, by simply pressing the steering wheel button twice, you can choose to return the DVD to full screen mode.

Full Screen Display Settings
Adjust screen settings on the head unit to optimize the display by touching the head unit screen then select “Screen Format” then select “Stretched”. Touch the full screen icon to return to full screen mirroring display.

Under no circumstances should the driver operate the navigation system, watch video or otherwise be distracted while the vehicle is in motion. During installation always perform all operations with patience and due care so as not to damage interior trim, wiring or any others parts. Be especially cautious of sharp edges that may damage cables and/or cause injury to the installer. Install this device in a location where it will not interfere with the operation of the vehicle. Do not install in areas of high humidity, dust or where it is likely to get wet. Always use this product in accordance with local traffic regulations.Distracted driving can cause a serious accident, cause injury and break the law. Beat-Sonic and its affiliates shall not be held responsible for any consequence, either directly or otherwise, as a result of using this product.

Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - Symbol 2 Before you start
Prior to commencing electronic work, disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal to prevent component and wire damage caused by accidental short circuits. Switch the headlight dimmer OFF and the ignition to the OFF position before waiting for the prescribed duration before disconnecting the battery.

This product carries a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase.
*Ensure that proof of purchase is retained for all warranty claims.
*Before claiming warranty, please check harness and connectors are properly secured. Improperly secured connectors account for almost all malfunctions.
*If after checking all connections the fault still exists, please contact your Beat-Sonic distributor or Beat-Sonic head office.

Beat Sonic has a limited warranty period of 1 year of the date of purchase. Please keep all receipts and the warranty certificate. If case of return please show the dealer where you purchased your unit to show proof of purchase and date sold.

Enter Configuration Mode

You can enable configuration mode by using the factory answer call phone button on your steering wheel.
There will be a series of beeps to inform you when modes have been changed. This detailed information is explained in a later step.

Please note, When selecting different modes by clicking the phone button, please depress the button in a swift and concise manner. If the clicks are to slow, the STN will not pick up the actions.

Turning ON/OFF
You can turn on/off the STN system by pressing the phone button on the steering wheel 4 times. A series of beeps can be heard when actions are completed.

The STN can also be set to auto mode,which will keep the functions active until manually reset.

How to select each mode
The STN7028EP has two modes of operation to choose from. You can select either reset mode or auto mode. Please select the desired mode for your purposes. Explanation on how to select each mode is as

  1. With ignition OFF, press and hold the Phone ButtonBeat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - Symbol 3 then turn the ignition from OFF to ACC.
  2. Press and hold the “phone button Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - Symbol 3” until a long beep is heard.
  3. After the long beep, you will enter the mode settings and from here you can choose your preferred mode.
  4. Lastly, select your desired mode and then hold down the phone button until a long beep can be heard confirming the designated mode as been selected.

Every-time the engine is switched off, the STN will reset.

Installation Instructions

The panel removal process will vary from model to model. For a problem free installation, please refer to your local car dealer on how to remove the car paneling in your Lexus model.

  1. Once the car has been turned off for at least 10 minutes, please remove the minus terminal from your car battery before installation.

  3. Combining the factory 28 pin connector with cable A
    ※Example Shown below, Toyota Crown 220. The color of the connector may vary.

Insert the correct size – driver/tool at these points to split apart the 28 pin factory connector into 3 separate halves.
Please be very careful when handling this connector. It is very delicate and can easily be broken.

  1. Separate the Upper part from the 28p factory connector.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable A 3
  2. Now take the middle+lower part of the factory 28p connector and connect it with the cable A.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable A 4
  3. Then cover this connector with the provided black cover.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable A 5
  4. Finish by wrapping the protective cover with the supplied foam tape.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable A 6
  5. Now take the upper part of the 28p factory connector and attach it to the cable A.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable A 7
  6. Once connected together, plug this connector into the 28 pin slot behind the head unit.

4. Combining the factory 30 pin connector with cable B
※Example Shown below, Toyota Crown 220. The color of the connector may vary. The 30
pin connector installation steps will be similar to the 28p connector.

Insert the correct size – driver/tool at these points to split apart the 30p factory connector into 3 separate halves.
Please be very careful with this connector as its very delicate and its possible to break part of the clip.

  1. Attach the dummy connector to the lower part of the 30P factory connector.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable B 3
  2. Then connect the dummy+lower part of the 30P factory connector to cable B.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable B 4
  3. Then cover this connector with the provided black cover.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable B 5
  4. Finish by wrapping the protective cover with the supplied foam tape.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable B 6
  5. Now take the upper+middle part of the 30p factory connector and attach it to the cable B.Beat-Sonic STN7028 Video Navigation In Motion Controller - cable B 7
  6. Once attached, plug in the connector to the 30 pin slot behind the head unit.

5. Reconnect the battery and conduct a test drive to confirm whether the Video/Navigation controller is fuctioning correctly.
※The passanger and not the driver must check everything is fuctioning correctly during the test drive.
※Ensure all cables and connectors are properly installed and returned to their original position before conducting a test drive.
6. In the event of a problem with the navigation/display during the test drive, recheck all connections by disconnecting then reconnecting the harnesses.
7. After you have finished installation, be sure to reinstall all fasteners, screws, and panels to their original position.
※Please note by removing the minus terminal from the battery, the stored memory fuctions in the car, such as auto power windows, or seat position that have been saved will all be reset.
