2-3 Installing the CPU and CPU Cooler
CPU Installation Precautions: Ensure motherboard compatibility. Turn off computer and unplug power. Align CPU orientation using triangle marking or notches. Apply an even, thin layer of thermal grease. Do not power on without a cooler installed.
CPU Orientation: Note the alignment keys on the CPU socket and notches on the CPU. The triangle marking on the CPU indicates Pin One.
Installation Steps:
- Gently press the CPU socket lever handle down and away from the socket.
- Lift the CPU socket locking lever completely.
- Lift the metal load plate with the plastic protective cover.
- Hold the CPU by its edges, align the Pin One marking (triangle) or notches with the socket, and gently insert the CPU.
- Ensure the CPU is properly installed, then close the load plate. The plastic cover will pop off; remove it. Secure the lever under its retention tab.
⚠️ Always replace the plastic protective cover when the CPU is not installed to protect the socket. Do not force the lever if the CPU is not correctly seated.
CPU Cooler Installation:
- Apply thermal grease ? to the CPU surface.
- Place the cooler atop the CPU, aligning push pins with motherboard holes. Push down diagonally on the pins.
- Connect the CPU cooler's power connector to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.
Refer to your CPU cooler's manual for specific installation steps.

2-4 Installing the Memory
Memory Installation Precautions: Ensure motherboard compatibility. Use memory of the same capacity, brand, speed, and chips for best results. Turn off computer and unplug power.
Memory modules ? have a foolproof design; install in the correct orientation.
Dual Channel Memory Configuration:
This motherboard has four DDR4 sockets divided into two channels: Channel A (DDR4_A1, DDR4_A2) and Channel B (DDR4_B1, DDR4_B2). Dual Channel mode doubles memory bandwidth.
Recommended Dual Channel Configuration:
- 2 Modules: Install in DDR4_A2 and DDR4_B2 for dual channel.
- 4 Modules: Install in DDR4_A1, DDR4_A2, DDR4_B1, DDR4_B2 for dual channel.
⚠️ Dual Channel mode requires at least two memory modules. For optimal performance with two or four modules, use identical modules.
For single module installation, use DDR4_A2 or DDR4_B2.
2-5 Installing an Expansion Card
Precautions: Ensure motherboard compatibility. Read the expansion card's manual. Turn off computer and unplug power.
Installation Steps:
- Locate a compatible expansion slot ? and remove the corresponding metal slot cover from the chassis back panel.
- Align the expansion card with the slot and press down until fully seated.
- Ensure the card is securely seated.
- Secure the card's metal bracket to the chassis with a screw.
- Replace chassis covers.
- Turn on the computer. Adjust BIOS settings if necessary.
- Install the expansion card's drivers in the operating system.
