This kit is compatible with the following vehicle models and engine configurations:

• Dodge Dakota: 5.2L & 5.9L V8 engines, model years 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002. (Not compatible with 4.7L engines)
• Dodge Ram Pick Up: 1500, 2500, 3500 series with 5.2L & 5.9L V8 engines, model years 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001.
• Dodge Durango: 5.2L & 5.9L V8 engines, model years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003. (Not compatible with 4.7L engines)

Follow these general steps for installing the ignition tune-up kit components. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for precise instructions.

5.1. Spark Plugs Installation

1. Carefully remove the existing spark plug wires and spark plugs. Note the order of the wires for correct reinstallation.
2. Inspect the new platinum spark plugs (Part# AP5224 Sp1018) for any damage.
3. Ensure the spark plug gap is set according to your vehicle's specifications.
4. Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs.
5. Thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand to prevent cross-threading.
6. Tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications using a torque wrench.

5.2. Spark Plug Wires Installation

1. Replace spark plug wires one at a time to maintain the correct firing order.
2. Connect the new Pro Spark Ignition Spark Plug Wires (Part# 9404 2500-79843) firmly to the spark plugs and the distributor cap. Ensure a secure click for proper connection.
3. Route the new wires away from hot engine components and moving parts using appropriate wire separators or clips.

5.3. Distributor Cap and Rotor Installation

1. Remove the old distributor cap and rotor (Part# 4202 2504-04057 and Part# 3202 2503-04063). Note the orientation of the cap and rotor for correct installation.
2. Install the new distributor rotor onto the distributor shaft, ensuring it seats properly.
3. Place the new distributor cap onto the distributor, aligning any locating tabs or notches. Secure the cap with its retaining clips or screws.

5.4. Oil Filter, Air Filter, and PCV Valve Installation

1. Replace the old oil filter with the new Part# P4670 Oil Filter. Ensure the new filter is properly lubricated and tightened according to manufacturer specifications.
2. Install the new Part# Pa4372 Air Filter into the air filter housing.
3. Replace the old PCV valve with the new Part# Pcv395 Pcv348 1901-03828 V165 PCV Valve.
