- The Avi-on Programming Tool (APT) is a plug-and-play BluetoothⓇ antenna that significantly improves wireless communication during project startup with the Avi-on Mobile Commissioning App.
- Because cell phone antennas vary in quality, the APT standardizes the Bluetooth connection, speeding overall commissioning time and App performance.

The APT is available in two configurations: with and without a battery pack.

- This kit includes the Avi-on Antenna Dongle, a USB-C to USB-A adapter cable, and a protective hard case.
- This setup tethers the APT to the technician’s cell phone, and it relies on the phone’s battery
- Option 2: Avi-on Programming Tool with Battery Pack, $90. Best for mid-sized to large projects.
- Everything in the basic kit, plus a portable battery pack. Ideal for when the tech wants the APT separated from their phone
How to use
- Power the APT with either your phone or the battery pack
- Basic APT: Connect the Avi-on Antenna Dongle to your phone using the provided cable
- APT with Battery Pack: Connect the Avi-on Antenna Dongle to the battery pack using the cable. Keep it within 10 feet of your phone at all times
- Enable the APT connection in the App
- Open the Avi-on Mobile Commissioning App and log in
- Enable “Scan for Dongle Connection” (also accessible later in App Settings)
- Confirm Bluetooth connection: Verify that the Dongle icon is showing in the upper-right corner of the App

- Start commissioning: Keep your APT within 10 feet of your phone throughout the commissioning process
- Leave the APT with the facilities manager: The APT is designed for facilities managers to adjust settings and maintain their Avi-on lighting controls. After training the customer on their controls, please leave the APT kit with the facilities staff for their future use.

Troubleshooting
- Connection Issues: If the Dongle icon is not showing in the App, ensure the APT is properly powered and within 10 feet of your phone. Check that “Scan for Dongle Connection” is enabled in the App.
- App Performance: If the App is slow or unresponsive, ensure a stable Bluetooth connection with the APT. Restarting the App or your phone might also help.
- Battery Life (Basic APT): If using the Basic APT, monitor your phone’s battery life as it powers the dongle.
- Battery Life (APT with Battery Pack): Ensure the portable battery pack is charged before use.
