Instruction Manual

Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Olela Queen Murphy Bed with an integrated desk, bookcase, and one side cabinet. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly or operation to ensure safe and correct usage of the product.

The Olela Queen Murphy Bed system is designed to maximize space efficiency, offering a comfortable queen-size bed, a functional workstation, and storage solutions within a compact footprint. It features a robust iron frame and a 4-hydraulic gas lift system for effortless transformation.

Setup Instructions

Important: Assembly requires two people. Ensure all components are present before starting. The product ships in 6 separate boxes; confirm receipt of all packages before beginning assembly.

1. Unpacking and Component Check

  • Carefully unpack all components from the 6 boxes.
  • Verify all parts against the included parts list in your detailed assembly guide. Contact customer support immediately if any parts are missing or damaged.

2. Wall Anchoring (Mandatory)

For safety and stability, the Olela Murphy Bed MUST be firmly anchored to a solid wall structure. This includes concrete walls, brick walls, or wood studs. NEVER install directly into hollow drywall alone.

  • Locate suitable anchoring points on your wall.
  • Follow the detailed instructions in the separate assembly guide for securing the unit to the wall.

3. Assembly Steps

Refer to the comprehensive step-by-step assembly guide provided with your product for detailed instructions on constructing the frame, desk, bookcase, and side cabinet. Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely.

4. Mattress Placement

The Olela Queen Murphy Bed includes a premium 10-inch hybrid mattress. This mattress is specifically designed for the bed system. It is critical that the mattress weighs at least 55 lbs (25 kg) to ensure the bed naturally rests flat on the floor when lowered.

Operating Instructions

1. Transforming the Bed

The Olela Murphy Bed features a 4-hydraulic gas lift system designed for smooth and effortless operation. This system assists in both lowering and raising the bed.

  • To Lower the Bed: Gently pull the bed frame downwards from the top. The hydraulic system will assist in a controlled descent until the bed is fully extended.
  • To Raise the Bed: Lift the bed frame upwards from the foot end. The hydraulic system will assist in lifting the bed back into its upright, closed position. Ensure it locks securely.

2. Using the Integrated Desk

The integrated desk remains perfectly horizontal as the bed is lowered or raised. This allows you to leave items on the desk without needing to clear them.

  • Ensure items on the desk are under 4 inches (10 cm) in height to avoid obstruction when the bed is lowered.
  • The desk supports up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Do not exceed this weight limit.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • For the engineered wood surfaces, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • For the mattress, follow the care instructions provided by the mattress manufacturer. Generally, spot clean with a mild detergent and allow to air dry.

2. Inspection

  • Periodically check all screws and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary.
  • Inspect the wall anchoring points every 6 months to ensure they are secure.
  • Check the hydraulic gas shocks for any signs of wear or leakage. If issues are observed, contact customer support.

Troubleshooting

1. Bed Does Not Lower/Raise Smoothly

  • Check Mattress Weight: Ensure the mattress meets the minimum weight requirement of 55 lbs (25 kg). An excessively light mattress may cause the bed to not stay down or raise too quickly.
  • Obstructions: Verify there are no obstructions around the bed frame or within the mechanism.
  • Hydraulic System: If the operation feels unusually stiff or loose, the hydraulic gas shocks may need inspection. Contact customer support.

2. Desk Items Obstructed During Transformation

  • Ensure all items on the desk are under 4 inches (10 cm) in height. Taller items must be removed before lowering the bed.

3. Unit Feels Unstable

  • Re-check Anchoring: Immediately re-verify that the unit is securely anchored to wall studs, concrete, or brick. Tighten any loose anchor bolts.
  • Fasteners: Inspect all assembly fasteners and tighten any that are loose.
