Product Overview

The GENERIC 42-inch Portable Swamp Cooler features a slim vertical design, an LED display, and a remote control for convenient operation. It offers three functions: ventilation, ice cooling, and humidifying.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the air cooler on a firm, level surface in the desired room. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow. Avoid placing it directly against walls or furniture.
  3. Water Tank Preparation:
    • Open the water tank cover located at the bottom rear of the unit.
    • Fill the 0.8-gallon water tank with clean, cool water. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
    • For enhanced cooling, place the provided ice boxes (after freezing them) into the water tank.
    • Close the water tank cover securely.

  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The air cooler can be operated using the control panel on top of the unit or the included remote control.

Control Panel / Remote Functions:

  • Power Button: Turns the unit ON or OFF.
  • Speed Button: Cycles through fan speeds: Low, Medium, High.
  • Mode Button: Selects operating modes: Normal, Natural, Sleep.
  • Swing Button: Activates or deactivates the 52° oscillation function, distributing air evenly.
  • Timer Button: Sets the automatic shut-off timer in 1-hour intervals, up to 12 hours.
  • Cooling Button: Activates or deactivates the ice cooling/humidifying function (requires water in the tank).

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air cooler.

  1. Cleaning the Water Tank:
    • Unplug the unit before cleaning.
    • Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water.
    • Clean the tank with a mild detergent and water. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
    • Dry the tank completely before reinserting it into the unit.
    • Clean the water tank at least once a week, or more frequently if used continuously.
  2. Cleaning the Air Filter System:
    • Unplug the unit.
    • Locate the air filter panel at the rear of the unit.
    • Carefully remove the filter.
    • Clean the filter with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. For deeper cleaning, rinse with water and mild soap, then allow it to air dry completely before reinstallation.
    • Reinsert the dry filter and close the panel.

  3. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  4. Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank is empty and clean, and the unit is dry. Store in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit does not turn on. No power supply; Power cord not properly plugged in. Check if the unit is plugged into a working outlet. Ensure the power button is pressed.
No cool air / Weak airflow. Water tank is empty; Ice boxes not frozen or used; Air filter is dirty; Air inlets/outlets blocked. Fill the water tank. Use frozen ice boxes. Clean the air filter. Ensure no obstructions around the unit.
Unpleasant odor. Stagnant water in the tank; Dirty water tank or filter. Empty and thoroughly clean the water tank. Clean or replace the air filter. Use fresh water.
Remote control not working. Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted; Obstruction between remote and unit. Replace batteries (included). Ensure direct line of sight to the unit's receiver.
