3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your WOSPORTS 90mm Refractor Telescope:
- Set up the Tripod: Extend the adjustable aluminum tripod legs to a stable height. Ensure the tripod is level on a flat surface. The tripod offers 360-degree horizontal rotation and 180-degree vertical adjustment.
- Attach the Telescope Tube: Securely mount the telescope tube onto the tripod head. Tighten the mount lock knob to prevent movement.
- Install the Finder Scope: Attach the 3x24 finder scope to its designated bracket on the main telescope tube. The finder scope helps in quickly locating objects before viewing them through the main eyepiece.
- Insert the Diagonal Mirror: Insert the 45-degree diagonal mirror into the focuser. This mirror provides an erect image and a comfortable viewing angle, reducing neck and eye strain.
- Choose an Eyepiece: For initial use, insert the 25mm eyepiece into the diagonal mirror. This provides a lower magnification and wider field of view, making it easier to locate objects.
- Attach Phone Adapter (Optional): If you wish to capture photos or videos, attach the phone adapter to an eyepiece and then secure your smartphone.

4. Operating Instructions
Operating your telescope involves a few key steps to achieve clear observations:
- Align the Finder Scope: Before observing, align the finder scope with the main telescope. Point the main telescope at a distant, stationary object (e.g., a tree or building). Look through the finder scope and adjust its screws until the object is centered in its crosshairs. Then, look through the main telescope's eyepiece and fine-tune the alignment until the object is centered there as well.
- Locate an Object: Use the finder scope to roughly point the telescope towards your desired celestial or terrestrial object.
- Observe with Eyepiece: Look through the eyepiece. If the image is blurry, slowly turn the focus knob until the object appears sharp and clear.
- Change Magnification: To change magnification, remove the current eyepiece and insert a different one. The included 25mm eyepiece provides 24x magnification, and the 10mm eyepiece provides 60x magnification.
- Use the Barlow Lens: For higher magnification, insert the 3X Barlow lens into the diagonal mirror first, then insert an eyepiece into the Barlow lens. This triples the magnification of any eyepiece. For example, the 25mm eyepiece with the 3X Barlow provides 72x magnification, and the 10mm eyepiece with the 3X Barlow provides 180x magnification.
- Adjust for Tracking: As Earth rotates, celestial objects will drift out of view. Gently adjust the telescope using the control lever to keep the object centered in the eyepiece.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your telescope:
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surfaces. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of optical lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Avoid touching the lens surfaces with your fingers.
- Storage: When not in use, store the telescope in its carrying case in a dry, dust-free environment. Keep all caps on the telescope tube and eyepieces to prevent dust accumulation.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose the telescope to extreme hot or cold temperatures, as this can affect its optical components.
- Handle with Care: Always handle the telescope and its accessories with care to prevent accidental drops or impacts.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Image is blurry:
- Adjust the focus knob slowly until the image is sharp.
- Ensure the eyepiece is fully inserted into the diagonal mirror or Barlow lens.
- Check for condensation or dirt on the lenses and clean if necessary.
- Cannot find objects:
- Ensure the finder scope is properly aligned with the main telescope.
- Start with the lowest magnification eyepiece (25mm) for a wider field of view.
- Practice locating terrestrial objects during the day.
- Image is upside down or reversed:
- For astronomical viewing, images will naturally appear inverted or reversed. This is normal for many telescopes.
- For terrestrial viewing, ensure the 45-degree diagonal mirror is correctly installed, as it provides an erect image.
