Setup and Assembly

The main lift unit comes largely pre-assembled. Follow these steps to prepare your lift for operation.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Attach Casters/Wheels: Secure the four casters to the designated points on the lift unit using the provided fasteners. This allows for easy mobility.
  3. Install Handles: Attach the two handles to the lift unit. These are used for maneuvering and wall-mounting for storage.
  4. Connect Hoses: Connect the hydraulic hoses from the power unit to the lift cylinders. Ensure connections are tight and free from leaks.
  5. Add Hydraulic Oil: Fill the hydraulic reservoir with No.46 hydraulic oil to the recommended level. Refer to the power unit's specific instructions for exact filling procedures.
  6. Attach Lifting Columns and Rubber Pads: Place the four lifting columns onto the lift arms. Then, place the rubber pads on top of the lifting columns. These provide cushioning and grip for the vehicle's frame.
  7. Optional Extension Plates: For vehicles with longer wheelbases, attach the extension plates to the lift arms as needed.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your Garvee Portable Car Lift.

  1. Positioning the Lift: Roll the lift to the desired location on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Vehicle Placement: Carefully drive or push the vehicle over the lift, ensuring it is centered and the lifting points align with the rubber pads/lifting columns.
  3. Initial Lift: Using the control panel, slowly raise the lift until the rubber pads make contact with the vehicle's frame. Double-check alignment and stability.
  4. Raising the Vehicle: Continue to raise the vehicle to the desired working height. The lift offers an adjustable height range from 6.26 to 27 inches (with pads).
  5. Engage Safety Locks: Once the desired height is reached, ensure the mechanical safety locks are fully engaged. Never work under a vehicle supported only by hydraulic pressure.
  6. Lowering the Vehicle: To lower, disengage the safety locks and slowly lower the vehicle using the control panel. Ensure the area around the lift is clear.
  7. Remove Vehicle: Once fully lowered, carefully drive or push the vehicle off the lift.
